Location is great - there's a shop just outside the inn, an ice cream and food bar just next door that's open late, an atm there as well, a taxi stand and laundry right across the road, and great restaurants like Paddles just around the corner that you can walk to. The room size is adequate with a double bed and single. As it is a very old building, it shows in the room layout and decor. It needs a lot of work and maybe an upgrade would make it a little more appealing to the eye. However, it is comfortable and for the price you pay it is great value, so not much more to complain about there!! The staff there are the best I have encountered in Samoa!!!! They are almost like family by the time you leave. They make sure your stay is comfortable and are continuously asking if everything is OK with your stay. Both my husband and I would look forward to breakfast every morning as the staff serving you make it that much more enjoyable. A simple brekkie of Koko alaisa, toast, pawpaw, coconut, yellow buns and a hot cuppa are just what you need to start the day. On our last night our air conditioning started to play up and being 6 months pregnant I could not handle the heat. The lovely staff moved us to another vacant room right away! Overall we both experienced superior service for a budget hotel. The 5 star rating is for its friendly staff, location and value for money. Stayed here overnight as we were traveling from New Zealand to American Samoa. We were in room 6\. The bathroom door did open fully and that is because the toilet was right behind the door. Think it had been hit a few times as whole toilet moved. Could not turn the hot tap on in the hand basin Faucet seemed to be stuck. Looked like toilet paper had been thrown up onto the shelf above the toilet. The double bed had been made using twin size sheets (just lucky that there was only one person in that bed or it would have been a fight for bedding). No remote for the AC and so the room got quite cold overnight. The staff here was SO KIND & helpful. I ended up catching some kind of cold, but the staff helped me a lot & directed me to the correct assistance to get better. I enjoyed my time here, its unfortunate I didnt get to experience more of Samoa cus I was sick, lol. Oh well, at least I know the staff here were very helpful & loving.
