The staff were friendly and helpful but we literally got no sleep at all as every 60 seconds there was a loud clanking noise from dodgy pipe work that was ridiculously noisy. It ruined our trip as we were too tired to enjoy the lovely sights of York. No luxury/nice touches. Booked family room with double and 3 single beds - only double and two single beds in the room. Needed to make up the sofa bed ourselves. Has TV, kettle with cups etc. Everything there, nothing missing. Clean. Room was basic with very small en suite bathroom but owners were very helpful and allowed us to leave luggage there while we went into the center of York. Beds were comfortable and sheets clean. They had a very good full English breakfast for 5 pounds. I would definitely stay there again. Short walk to Jorvik center and York Minster but took a taxi to the train station for around 5 pounds. No air conditioning but we had a ground floor room which was cool enough even though it was in the 80's outside. ##### Vanessa L.
