River Front Cabin On Kings River With Room For Your Horses

River Front Cabin On Kings River With Room For Your Horses

10/10 Excellent
"Such a lovely location with close access to the river and a couple ponies! I was so excited to surprise one of my daughters with the ponies. We enjoyed using the several kayaks that were available and spending time in the hammock. Lots of green space for the kids to play and a basketball hoop. We were fortunate to have a very calm river for most of our stay, which allowed all the kids to play safely and practice their kayaking. The biggest downside that we encountered were the mattresses. None of the adults got very good sleep but the 7 and 8 year olds had no complaints upstairs in the loft. Also, there aren’t any light blocking curtains in rooms aside from the master bedroom. Unfortunately the fishing wasn’t the greatest but we still caught some. There is more opportunity off the property but we weren’t interested in leaving this spot. Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend this place, while noting the caveats above. Grateful for the experience!"

Cabin overlooking creek close to National Forrest a great place to relax

10/10 Excellent
"This is such a great spot! If you want a quiet, nature-immersed getaway, with privacy, cold fresh water, and "entertainment" for the fam right outside the front door, this is a WONDERFUL spot. The indoor amenities were great, too, but our fam focuses on access to beautiful natural spaces and boy does this spot deliver! Yes, yes, there were also super comfy beds, great pillows, good air conditioning, hot showers, netflix and board games when it was too hot to play...all of that was icing on the cake. The real treasure is their creek spot and the good swimming hole just a few steps upstream. Highly recommend. Host communication was proactive in the days leading up to the trip so we were ready- perfect."

"Patricia is the most thoughtful host. She goes above and beyond with communication and you can tell she has a lot of love for the history of the house and the work that has been put in to restoring and preserving this gem of local history. I absolutely LOVED the house, loved reading the history of the house. My family has lived in the area for many, many generations so it helped me feel even more connected with my own family history. A few things to note that may be helpful for future travelers. By NO MEANS are these negatives, but just things some folks might like to know of. 1) this is an old home, with old home character and charm. The floors are a bit uneven in some places, which might be a challenge for someone with mobility issues. Personally, I loved the hardwood floors, I loved sitting in the living room and letting my imagination take me back to what it might have been like all those years ago when the original owners were building and making names for themselves. 2) the yard is not fenced, however, there are plenty of trees you can run a tie out from one tree to another if you don’t want to leash walk your dog. My old Great Dane never wanders away so this was not an issue for me and it afforded us the opportunity to see a buck in the backyard early one morning. The pool and the AC were WONDERFUL to cool off in the hot July/August heat. Hands down I will stay here again whenever I’m in the area, if it’s available!"

Secluded cabin on the Kings river at Marshall Ford. Private and beautiful river

Secluded cabin on the Kings river at Marshall Ford. Private and beautiful river

8/10 Good
"The cabin itself was lovely. So cute and had all of the amenities listed. The upstairs air conditioner works, but makes a noise that isn’t conducive for sleeping when it’s a few inches from your head. There is a grill, but it’s very old and rusted. My only complaint is the amount of trash around the property-I actually ended up taking trash bags to the river to help clean up. This is a perfect fall/winter getaway but I wouldn’t recommend at the height of dry season. The river was incredibly low, hot, and stagnant."
