Breakfast was ok first day but second day I asked for 2 eggs, was given one, mushroom was less than the day before, and also only one tomato. (I asked for no sausage or bacon as I’m trying to lose weight). Lady that served me was friendly but they struggled as they’re ran by a couple who does the room cleans, check ins and outs and food. Preparation for breakfast too. Despite it being very close to town, and 30 mins walk to the lake, it wasn’t worth £120 a night + extra £15 per night for my dog. For this place to be recommended to others they’ll really have to work on their hygiene standards both in the room and in their dining area. I paid £150 a night(includes £15 fee for my dog) at a Coniston hotel 5 mins walk from the lake. Dinner was 2 courses and you could choose anything from the menu, and breakfast was self serve so very generous. This stay here was a last minute extension after 3 days at Coniston. I think the biggest plus for this place is the spacious and free parking. We had a lovely weekend in Windermere and this hotel was very much a part of the pleasure. We got a free upgrade to The Oscar Wilde suite which was huge and lovely. We went to their sister hotel to use the Health club facilities which was really relaxing. Even though this was only an overnight stay before travelling to a cottage in Keswick, it turned out to be our favourite place visited in a long time. The hotel is perfectly positioned on the main road only 4 minutes away from the town centre, and 15 minutes walk to Bowness. On approaching the check in desk, we were met by Karl, who signed us in and showed us to our rooms- we had requested to have the rooms together as our son is Autistic and we weren't disappointed xx the rooms themselves were lovely and clean, spacious and had the comfiest of beds. Breakfast next morning was delicious and free!! No added charge and it certainly filled us up. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice ensuite shower room with a small selection of toiletries, also tea coffee and biscuits in the room. At breakfast the same lady was busy around the dining area taking orders and serving breakfasts which were very nice. The room we were given was not very good at all and not worth the 4 stars as advertised. There was mould on the curtains and all through the shower cubical. There was loose floor tile on the entrance to the bathroom which are dangerous. The curtain rail was held up with ribbon. The staff however were really good to deal with, the owner/Manager was really welcoming and couldnt do enough to help with anything else we needed. The breakfast was very good quality and very nice, the chef was helpful and would change the breakfast to suit if you needed. Stedet ligger meget kort gåavstand fra Windermere sentrum. Parkering skjer på hotellets område Jeg ble meget godt tatt imot av vertinnen, men etter innsjekk var det lite å se av personalet Rommet hadde fin størrelse med de nødvendige fasiliteter; - vannkoker med kaffe, te og kjeks - TV - WIFI men ikke AC - stedet tilbyr utlån av vifter. Baderommet hadde også grei størrelse. Alt var godt rengjort og vedlikeholdt.
