We stayed during pandemic, this review may not represent the hotel during normal times.
Good: great 2 private beaches very close to the rooms, great snorkeling, on par with other public beaches that we visited all around the island. Big parking with security. 15 minutes walk to the historic city center. Clean rooms that are mostly renovated.
Not so good: the slowest and the most uncomfortable reception in my memory. During the day there’s always just one person working, and they work very slow (I assume it may be because complicated rules they need to follow, I noticed at some point that they had to enter some data in computer and also wrote down with a pen into a journal). The lobby doesn’t have AC, it’s extremely hot. My check in experience was hell, as I had to stay in the long line, hold a baby in my hands, sweat badly from the heat, for 20 minutes, and nobody attempted to help aside from offering a beverage.
In the evening (8pm) nobody’s at the reception and there’s no bell to get their attention.
I did get a room upgrade through VIP hotel program, but only after I complained to Expedia directly. They didn’t offer it on check in.
Restaurant food is just ok, you’d better visit any of the multitude of great restaurants within just 5 minutes walk. Servers are also extremely slow in taking orders and bringing check, even in not busy time.
All spaces have a visible sign of wear. Large chipped paint in the lobby. Seaside structures all rusty. Very old thermostats.
