Located a stone’s throw away from the harbour and less than a four-minute walk along Pier Road to the beach, it's perfectly placed in Whitby. This colourful cottage can sleep up to four guests, with all the usual mod cons including a jacuzzi bath - the perfect way to relax after a busy day on the beach! Ideal for a coastal family getaway or a couple’s mini break, this quirky cottage is a fantastic base when staying on the North Yorkshire coast. The Space: After entering the property via the bespoke artisan made gate, you’ll find the open-plan living area through the front door which combines comfort and quirkiness, with plush leather sofas, flat screen TV, and exposed timber beams. The kitchen area shares the living space so it is perfect for cooking and socialising with loved ones. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need, including a modern interior and amenities along with a pull-out dining table for four. Jul 2, 2025 Liked: Check-in, listing accuracy Disliked: Communication #### Okay for the price Location was hard to find, had to ask someone in a local shop. It is not accessible and up cobbled steps. We had two dogs and a 6 month old in a pram so that was difficult to navigate. The yard space was okay to let the dogs out and there is a gate but it was always being left open by others so if you have dogs who like to run off, this is not good. The property itself - it did the job. It was somewhere to sleep however not somewhere I think would be comfortable to stay in all day or for long-term as it is cramped. The fridge wasn’t clean and there was a lot of cobwebs throughout the property. You can see downstairs in between the floorboards on the middle floor which made me feel uneasy. Bathroom was good although again could have been cleaned to a better standard. The bedroom on the top floor does not have a door so bear that in mind. I would not be comfortable in this property with small children who can walk as the staircases aren’t very safe - carpet coming up on the actual stairs, wallpaper coming off the wall, winding, creaky staircase. The worst thing about this property is the constant and overwhelming smell of fish and chips. You wake up to the smell of battered fish, and go to bed smelling it. Even with the windows and window vents closed. This was a real issue for me as I have an extremely sensitive nose and made me vomit throughout my stay. I’m unsure how the owners could resolve this issue however. Overall, not bad for the price but I wouldn’t stay here again. ##### Jack E.
