Lower Ground Floor: Kitchen/dining room: Freeview TV, Gas Oven, Gas Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Dishwasher, Washing Machine Shower Room: Cubicle Shower, Toilet Ground Floor: Living room: Freeview TV First Floor: Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed Second Floor: Bedroom 2: Single (3ft) Bed Bedroom 3: Single (3ft) Bed, (Accessed Via Bedroom 2) Third Floor: Bedroom 4: Double (4ft 6in) Bed. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Welcome pack.. On road parking. No smoking.. Set over five floors this is an ideal choice for families as well as friends. There are stone steps leading up to the entrance of the house, then into the hallway with the staircase leading you up towards the bedrooms as well as stairs leading down to the kitchen and the shower room. The kitchen is a quirky living space, with an extending dining table in front of a gas heater where you can all enjoy meals together. From the back of the kitchen you step into the shower room. There is a rear door leading out into a little ginnel. On the ground floor you have the living room, with the leather sofas and arm chairs are arranged around the TV, where you can relax together in an evening, planning the adventures for the days ahead. Up onto the first floor you have a double bedroom with a feature fireplace. On the second floor you have a single bedroom, with a door leading through to the second single room. On the third floor under the eaves, with velux windows so that you can look up into the skies from the comfort of your own bed is a double room. Your dogs are welcome to join you on holiday, this area is doggy heaven, with many pet friendly bars and cafes, even a dog bakery! There are a great selection of walks nearby you are sure to love. Whitby is a very popular resort with lots of wonderful events and festivals throughout the year such as the bi-annual Goth Weekend, Folk Festival, Regatta and many different music events. With everything that’s going on there is still plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the 2 miles of golden sands, and some amazing scenery all along the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast. With stunning views, hidden coves and bays to explore, there is something for everyone. Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes are just two examples of picture perfect seaside villages in the area, with links to the explorer Captain Cook. The Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track are both fantastic walking routes that can be joined in Whitby, or head inland to the North York Moors National Park where there are thousands of miles of walking routes. While exploring you’ll find the 199 steps that lead up to Whitby Abbey and the church of St Mary’s, which were made famous by the novel ’Dracula’. Whitby has a golden sandy beach as well as a marina where you can charter your own boat or join a trip out to sea to do a spot of whale watching. The traditional seaside resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington are just down the coast and the medieval walled city of York, with its Viking Centre and bustling cobbled streets, is a short drive away. There are also attractions such as Flamingoland, Eden Camp, Lightwater Valley and the Sea Life Centre all within easy driving distance. Beach ½ mile. Gets you fit for the five floors if you use them all though! Secure, warm and everything worked. Couldn't find any instructions for anything anywhere e.g. bins and recycling. As a property It's worn and unloved, for example broken blinds in the kitchen, wonky curtains, cobwebs and damp smell in cellar kitchen. BUT if you go with that knowledge, as a cheap place to stay right in Whitby, and a base to be out each day, it suited us great. ##### Mark Richmond ### 2/10 Terrible #### Miss H. May 16, 2024 Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy #### There are no words to describe how appalling this was! What a dump! We turned up to a filthy property, beds not made, white marks on the carpets in the bedrooms 😳 beds not made, towels on the floor, bins still full and filth and dust everywhere. There was a massive hole in the tiles in the bathroom which someone apparently commented on booking . Com over 45 days ago so they have let people stay in it since! The smell in the kitchen was beyond belief. I had to look in wardrobes to see if someone was still staying there. It’s all stairs if you’re in top floor you have to come down 3 flights to go to the bathroom in the basement. We refused to stay to which they said they’d send cleaners in and we should go out for tea whilst they did 😱 I said it’s 5.30pm on a Friday evening it’s going to take more than an hour to clean this hovel 😂 we refused to stay was offered a refund but then no compo and we were stuck in Whitby me my dog and my 79 year old mother with nowhere to stay! 😡 we then found another property which due to late booking cost us twice as much. Absolutely appalling they should be banned from renting out a property! Will never use Vrbo again either the attitude of the phone staff was disgraceful. Shame on all concerned.
