Moragoe Homestead rich in historyand character
Set among majestic rolling hills and sweeping valleys near Werona and Kooroocheang, Moragoe Homestead is a landmark property rich in history and character. First settled in the mid 1800s, this elegant colonial style homestead now spans approximately 38 squares and sits proudly at the entrance to its 1800 acre farmland estate.
Inside, the scale is impressive. A spacious lounge with a unique open fireplace and reverse cycle split system flows into an enormous family room a space that truly must be seen to be believed. The home offers five bedrooms, (2 rooms can have split beds) including a master with ensuite, plus two additional bathrooms, ensuring comfort for family and guests. A traditional central hallway enhances the sense of grandeur, while the kitchen retains its country character with a Raeburn wood stove (for heating only). There are 3 fireplaces and split systems in 2 bedrooms.
Outdoors, the property continues to inspire. Two claw foot baths provide your own private farmland bathing options. The owners has cleverly designed this outdoor bathing option for guests to really unwind. The deck provides undercover dining for 8 and there are countless options across the property for guests to enjoy the outdoors and some of the unique old world creations from yesteryear. If you up for a walk Deep Creek meanders along the rear boundary.
The home itself is steeped in heritage, having housed distinguished owners and even featured in three films. Wide verandas wrap around three sides, overlooking early Australian country gardens and framing the property’s timeless charm.
The property is a working farm of 1800 acres and it employs the principals of regeneerative farming with no use of chemicals and the live stock are all grass fed.
There are 2 other other houses on the farm, The Falls at Lake Werona (3 bedroom) and the Cottage at Lake Werona (2 bedroom) which can also be booked
