Marianne is an excellent host with a beautiful home. Her home was just perfect for the 5 of us and our dog Murphy. My family and I enjoyed a lot of time together outside hiking, taking pictures, exploring the great city of Wellsboro and having bonfires during the day. The open floor setting of the home was perfect for cooking, movies and games during the cold evenings and nights. Plenty of family interaction : ) We had flurries frequently, which was wonderful for this time of year. Can't wait to return in warmer weather to explore more trails. My family stayed at this beautiful home for four nights over the New Years holiday. The great room was perfect for us. We had windows on four sides to look out at the gorgeous hills and snow. We had a ton of table space for meals, puzzles and board games. The living room couches and chair were super comfortable and the warm and cozy fireplace was the icing on the cake. The kitchen was fully stocked and very easy to work around. The bedrooms were both super spacious and very comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and very pretty. About 15 min from Wellsboro for groceries and restaurants. About 30 min in any direction from lots of hiking trails. Also about a 30 min drive to access points for the pine creek rail trail for biking. House itself has a big open floor plan on the main floor and comes stocked with everything you need. Bold move to rent someone’s house to cook in, right? That’s how stocked and prepared Marianne is as a host. We had more than enough pots, pans, and dishes to cook and eat without having to wash a single item. The layout of the home is perfect for entertaining with bar seating as well as a long table. Marianne’s interior design skills are unmatched. There is not a corner of the house that is not skillfully decorated. The large shower, fluffy bath towels (which are now in my shopping cart for my own home), fireplace, and layered LL Bean/Ugg bedding add to the feel of a cozy mountain home. As a host, Marianne is so welcoming and ensures her guests know she is just a text away. She is thoughtful about what her guests might need while enjoying their stay, down to the k-cup and q-tip. Leaves were awesome even though we had a cloudy week. We travel with our very well behaved dogs. They love this house and the surrounding area. People in town are very nice to chat with as in tge rest of Tioga County. Wellsboro is super chill, we found some new restaurants on our return w/ some new ones scheduled to open in the future. Marianne is a great host and very quick to respond with any questions you might have. If you want to go out for the day and board your pups, we highly recommend Grand Canyon Veterinary in town. They have an attached kennel, very knew and clean. We put our crew into doggie daycamp both years for a daytrip to Corning NY. Great little town, cool glass museum!
