The Welches community in Oregon is located between the Sandy and Salmon Rivers, making it a recreational paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. The area offers a wide range of activities including skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, mountain biking, kayaking, fishing, and golfing.  
  
  
  
One of the popular bike routes is the Old Salmon River Trail, a scenic course for all levels of riders. Hikers can also enjoy a moderate workout on the trail. In the summer, the trail is a popular spot for swimming in the river. Golfers can enjoy a challenging round at the Resort at the Mountain, which features three nine-hole courses: Pine Cone, Foxglove, and Thistle.
