"Stayed over for business, parking is near hotel (£10.50) and a very short walk. WiFi was good & rooms are fairly dated due to the age of the hotel but they have done a good job making clean and looked to be the best of the row of hotels in the area. Would stay again if I was in the area. Couple that run it were lovely and very helpful! "

"This is an okay place to stay while visiting St Leonard’s and Hastings. It seems to be a family-run place and full breakfast is provided and is good.Quick walk to the train and to the beach and laundromat. Some improvements have been made to the property which are cosmetic and actually quite silly. There was an attempt to make this old hotel look opulent while neglecting things like upgraded beds and bedding, soundproofing rooms, replacing broken window seals and fresh paint on the exterior. Perhaps even by previous owners. Not sure. So, while the staff are friendly and seem eager to please, the faded glory of the place is rather sad. Windows that open and peekaboo views from our room was nice. Plenty of hot water for the shower and some toiletries provided also was a plus. All in all a good place to stay on a budget but wear earplugs or a noise machine in your headphones to get some sleep."

"Hidden charges like ct card costs etc. and poor host interaction, heating was set to an uncomfortable setting that left us cold most of the time (even when changing it, it went back to their pre msetting), only one set of pillows had pillowcases on, blankets not enough. No light at the outside entry door at night as apartment is in basement of picture presented."

"Zanzibar was recommended to us by friends who’d previously stayed there, telling us how spacious, stylish and well located it was.They were 100% correct. Our family group aged 1-83 were able to spread out, with the fittest taking the Manhattan suite and my elderly mum taking Bali, as it is reached via the least steps. Some of the room have spectacular sea views, but every room had its charms. I’m currently hopping about on one leg recovering from a broken ankle and was able to hoist myself into the South America room which has walk in (Zimmer!) access to the shower and loo.We like the communal cooking experience on family holidays and certainly had enough storage, prep and dining space. The ice-maker is handy (but a bit noisy if you’re relaxing in the lounge).The garden is fabulous and the photos don’t do it justice. We had a BBQ one night and spread ourselves across the 3 levels, including the hot tub. The view from the outside sofa through the house to the sea is something to behold.Thank you Max and Katie for excellent coordination before and during our stay. Hastings and St Leonards are also a great place for a week. Even in my incapacitated state, I could access the sea front cafes just a few metres away. "
