Average place beautiful surroundings great service

Thought where the property was located was beautiful but lodging was way over priced. Given the bait and switch of room, very spotty Internet at best… however staff was as helpful as they can be.

Good but room for improvement.

This hotel is a great option but has some room for improvement. The positives are that it is clean, the staff is friendly, bedding is extremely comfortable, air conditioning and fans are provided in rooms. Food in the cafe, though expensive by local standards is good and appetising. The fish grill is a MUST.The pools are large and very clean, nice gardens are well maintained and the location is amazing, right on a beach with fisherman heading out each evening and fresh deliveries dropped off right outside the hotel entrance each morning. Improvements could include, WiFi, towel changes, pool towels put out every morning rather than needing to be requested. My only gripe was that the room we booked was advertised as having ocean views. It did not. In order to get ocean views I had to pay extra and move to a more expensive room. Whilst the manager Antonio did arrange a significant discount on the upgraded room, I was disappointed that an extra charge was applied to get a room with the features I had booked. The surcharge was 50% above the room booked, one with ocean views which my room did not have. If looking for a guide, necessary I think when staying at Rua, the hotel option, Wildam is a good and safe driver, he does however not speak other languages than Bahasa and his car is very old. We did book another guide with a modern car and who spoke English and French, this made our tours so much more enjoyable and worthwhile. Finally, locals are very friendly.

Dejligt ophold på Sumba

Ganske fint sted, lidt slidt men hyggeligt. Noget af det billigste man kan finde på Sumba. Sødt og venligt personale. Eneste minus er at man venter MEGET længe på sin morgen- og aftensmad (første aften ventede vi næsten 2 timer og næsten 1 time på morgenmaden)

Everything was great. I stayed extra nights because I enjoyed the ambiance and beach. The staff at the hotel is friendly giving the place a warm vibe. Good is great as well. The pool seems nice and warm during sunset.

This bungalow style hotel is very chic and natural, just what we imagined when we booked. we stayed in the small bungalow, its smaller and cheaper than the other room, but it was sufficient for 2 and cozy. Its cheaper to rent own car for the 1.5 hour trip from Tambolaka airport to Wanokaka. The reception at the hotel was very warm, both the managers Mrs. Anna and Pak Anto do a great job in handling details while keeping the familiar athmosphere . there are 3 swimming pools, but the most interesting is the sea in front of the hotel. Moringga fried rice is highly recommended to try. Weak wifi may be the only drawback, but if you are in Sumba, of course what you are looking for is natural beauty.
