Stone Rustico with garden in ancient village, Tuscany Exclusive whirlpool

The Casale 'Casa sotto la torre' is located in the shadow of the medieval Clock Tower, still functioning, immersed in the green chestnut groves that surround the entire village.
Exposed completely to the south, it offers from its windows a panorama that has no equal, where, further down, set among tall firs, is the ancient Pieve of the village.
Casa Il Nido has everything a tourist seeks the essence of rural Italy requires.
Casa Il Nido is the smallest of four apartments on the property. It is equipped with modern kitchen and bathroom equipment along with stone floors and walls, lace curtains and antiques. The view from the windows and the door is beautiful, and overlooks the ancient bell tower of the village and the nearby mountains.
Casa Il Nido has a beautiful wooden patio with a small exclusive Jacuzzi that enhances its uniqueness.
The garden is characterized by multi-level rocky walls full of walking paths with beautiful flowers, pots of herbs and vineyards covered with pylons. Here we can experience that delicious feeling of "old Italy" that every tourist wants. Sitting outside in one of the many benches writing or reading ... This would be a perfect place to spend a month or more for a writer, painter or anyone looking for beauty or a place to think and be creative. Boveglio is a delightful medieval village where Casa Sotto la Torre is located, it can be reached by car driving north for 15 kilometers on the narrow, SP 55 of Collodi or south for 10 km on the SP 55 from Bagni de Lucca. The house is located on the SP55 just at the northwest entrance of the village of Boveglio. There is a bus service to and from, but a car is probably needed. We found two good restaurants and a small but well-stocked grocery market in a village called Benabbio, 5 kilometers north of Boveglio. We loved this place and when we come back we stay longer.
Brief history: The farmhouse dates back to the late 1700s, and has just been restored by the owners keeping intact the characteristics of Tuscan architecture, with exposed stone walls, paved in hand-made bricks and ceilings in chestnut beams and bricks.
The furniture is the original and the atmosphere that you breathe is that of the past, where the pace of life seems to slow down ....
The first document referring to Boveglio dates back to 757 AD. c. The village is enclosed within the walls, and has a very rich artistic heritage, where stands the imposing Clock Tower, which in medieval times also served as a tower for the sighting of enemy armies.
The current economy of the country is linked to agriculture to harvest chestnuts, where flour is excellent, and to the development of quality tourism.

Beautiful Views
This is the second time I stayed at this property. I still love the property and the location. If you want to visit Tuscany and live in a small village, this property is for you. The host is very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend.

Worth the drive !
Casa Soto La Torre is a gem perched near the top of a mountain overlooking overlooking a lush valley. Views are breathtaking and the beautifully blended new + old charm of the apartment is just perfect. The winding switchbacks up the mountain are not an average Sunday drive, but well worth the experience.

Amazing stay in a beautiful isolated mountain village.
We had a wonderful relaxing couple of days in the mountains. The accommodation is beautiful, the hot tub fantastic and the kitchen is very well equipped for Italian home cooking. All of this very private and overlooking a beautiful view. The hosts were great, responding very quickly to any concerns. If you want a few days away from it all, I highly recommend this charming place.

Hidden Gem
We loved our stay in Boveglio. Since we stayed here in June it was hot in the valley but temps were significantly cooler up the hill. We used this as a base to visit Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence, Pistoia and Montecarlo. We stayed in the smallest unit but it was more than large enough fit he two of us. Lisa and Luca were very attentive. The place was very comfortable and reasonable in price. We quickly adapted to the drive up and down the hill. We appreciated the remote location as a cool retreat from our daily activities below. I would recommend to those who want to buy groceries to stop in Pescia at the Esselunge. They have everything one might need to cook your own food. We would stop there on our way back to Boveglio every few days for what we needed. There is also a laundromat in Peschia if you need it.

Wonderful!
We loved this little flat - everything you might need is there for your stay, including a well equipped kitchen. We spent our days chilling in the garden surrounded by trees, herbs and bees. So tranquil and relaxing. The village is well worth an explore too! . We will certainly return :)

Beautiful location, high atop the mountains in Tuscany.
Luca and Lisa are charming hosts who do whatever it takes to make your home in Tuscany a very memorable one. We simply loved the apartment. While small, it was well stocked and had a charm which made us feel we were not tourists, but family. The views from atop the mountain and from our patio were simply magnificent. A real old world charm, away from the normal tourist traffic but with all the conveniences you'd want. Not made for more than two, but a total blessing for a restful romantic getaway with your loved one. Thanks again Luca and Lisa. We love you guys!

Cottage is a beauty
The cottage lies aside of any haste and touristical fuzz in a beautiful mountain landscape. A great spot to relax, but not too far away for one day lasting trips to Pisa or Lucca.

Top Unterkunft

Lovely, with unfortunately 2 minuses
We were totally in love with this place -- the owners, Lisa and Luca, were very nice and gave us helpful instructions on several things. Everything is made with a lot of thought -- we especially loved the garden with all the herbs , cute little places to sit and read etc. The great thing about this apartment is that it has direct access to the garden. However, the same thing -- it's parterre, or kind of basement partially -- seems to be a problem also because it was very damp in the main room/kitchen which made it kind of uncomfortable for us to dwell in it, also because it always smelled a bit bad (not a big problem in July though, we were spending most of the time outside except for 2 rainy days) and we realized only in the end of our stay that there is actually a huge amount of mold in one of the walls. We know it's very difficult to get old walls that are moist dry, but honestly, it was so much mold, we just think it shouldn't be rented out like that. The bedroom was dry though, we ended up just keeping the door closed all the time. The other thing we weren't super happy about was the bed, if 2 people sleep in it you feel every tiny movement of the other person and unfortunately that didn't make us sleep great. That may be our personal sensitivity though. All in all, if the mold gets taken care of, we can warmly recommend this place and would love to come back ourselves some time in the future. The village itself is also very cute btw, very remote-- make sure you don't muss out on bar ferrari at the other end of the village. It has the greatest terrace in the world!
