Breakfast was amazing every day, the best banana pancakes in all Bali! Putu was an amazing host and the family is welcoming and friendly. The room had basic amenities and it was clean. The guesthouse is near many restaurants and the Monkey forest. Positive: the owners are really nice and friendly as well as the location is good. Negative: this place needs a good renovation - everything is falling apart - the drawers are broken, no hangers, the restroom door wasn't closing (the handle was broken), aircon was leaking on the bed (so I had to turn it off during the night). After addressing these complains to the owners, they said it will be fixed next day, but nothing was done except I've got the hangers. My stay at Umah Anila was perfect! The bed was a nice firm tempur pedic bed and the wifi was amazing so I could take video calls from my room. The room is bare bones so bring your own soaps and hairdryer but for the price, that's understandable. It's also tucked away on a quiet street so you'll be able to sleep and you will need to roll your suitcase to end of the street to meet cars but that's Ubud so no big deal there. The family is lovely, the premises are clean and it is located close to everything in Ubud but not loud (except for the roosters….welcome to Bali!). I enjoyed the banana pancakes and fresh fruit in the morning. I stayed in room 2…. the shower drained, the a/c worked well and the soap and shampoo/cond in pumps is a lovely touch. Yes the linen and towels are showing wear but I found this everywhere in Indonesia. My room on the top floor had a beautiful view of the sunrise each morning, and I enjoyed the delicious and beautifully presented breakfast sitting there on the deck. Fresh flowers each day, my room was cleaned each day. The people were really lovely. There was some construction happening right on the other side of the deck, so there was a bit less privacy during the day, but I was mostly out during the day while they were building. It really didn't bother me.
