Our recent stay at the hotel was unfortunately a mixed experience. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process set the tone for the visit. The front desk clerk came across as very unwelcoming and seemed bothered by even basic questions, which made us feel more like an inconvenience than guests. A warmer greeting and a bit of friendliness would have gone a long way in creating a better first impression. The room itself left quite a bit to be desired. It felt dingy and worn, with an overall lack of freshness and attention to detail. The lighting was dull, the furnishings looked tired, and the space just didn’t have the clean, comfortable feel you hope for when staying away from home. While everything technically functioned, the condition of the room made it hard to fully relax. On a positive note, the breakfast was easily the highlight of the stay. The selection was better than expected, the food was fresh, and the dining area felt much more inviting than the rest of the property. It ended up being the one part of the day we actually looked forward to, and it helped make the stay a little more enjoyable despite the other issues. Overall, the hotel has potential, but the lack of hospitality at the front desk and the condition of the room made the experience fall short. Everything was very clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were able to check in a few hours early. The man at the front desk, said "the room is ready, so why not!" Breakfast was fresh, tidy, and appliances (toaster, waffle iron etc.) were clean. We were really excited for the pool and the hot tub. The hot tub was not working and the pool was really dirty. It was super cloudy. We checked in about 4:15pm and by 4:45 or 5ish we were out of there. My husband did not want our 3 year old swimming in that pool. Linens smelled nice, though my bed was missing the flat sheet. It was also nice to stay at a hotel where the sounds from the other rooms were very muted through the walls. And while I appreciate a good complimentary breakfast, I will note that the bagels and muffins were very dry, almost stale, oranges were soft, the juice was watered down, and the hot water at the coffee station was tepid at best. The hot cocoa packets were delicious, the eggs were great, and the availability of yogurt was much appreciated. There was a young man who Im assuming was a relation of some sort to the morning hostess who treated the lobby like his living room with obnoxious music and helping himself to the tv and breakfast bar (its more the lack of consideration for others in the space than him actually being there). My son told me this particular person was rude to him when he was looking for someone to help with the hot tub (which was cold). The lady who checked us in was VERY helpful, I wish I had gotten her name. I asked for a few recommendations on easy places to get to for dinner that wasn't going to cost an arm and a leg and she was so helpful and chipper. Genuinley chipper.
