### Beach Hound (pets welcome)
ABSOLUTE BEACHFRONT family home on 20 miles of old fashioned unspoilt perfect beach. All guests receive a complimentary bottle of chilled champagne on arrival. The home is a highset large three bedroom home with spare shower and toilet downstairs in the large utility area and a great holiday and beach atmosphere. It has internal stairs and a tandem garage. A HUGE deck faces a short forest walk through the dune protection area to the beach with no road to cross! Beach fishing directly behind the home is excellent. Some guests have complained of crab poisoning from eating so many of their catch! Bring your boat and launch it at the double all-tide Toogoom boat ramp. The outdoor furniture includes 2 banana lounges. Half of the 52 square metre deck is covered by a stratco all-weather roof the other half by a stylish professional shade sail. The balustrade is stainless steel horizontal yacht wire. Crabbing and fishing are popular, or just beach-combing for a huge variety of shells. Keep an eye out for dugongs, turtles, and whales from July through October. Cleaning is included in the tarriff. Beach Hound offers total relaxation! Well behaved canine companions are welcome at Beach Hound. We go to Beach Hound regularly ourselves, so we know it is the best!
Toogoom is the last "forgotten" beach frontier, with all mod cons
Toogoom is a sleepy fishing village 15 minutes drive north of the City of Hervey Bay. It has 20 miles of rare unspoilt perfect northerly beach protected by Fraser Island. The sun both rises and sets over the beach, and never blasts you across the water creating a beach that is perfect all day long. The beach never has shadows on it. Swimming is idyllic and SAFE. The beach is shallow for hundreds of metres, with small waves to massage a tired body while you enjoy the black cockatoos and bird life in the she-oaks along the foreshore. The beach has a long off-leash area for dog lovers. When the tide is out, dogs can runs for MILES! There is a 15 m wide dune protection area all the way along Toogoom Beach creating an unbelievably private and quiet beach. All modern conveniences are a 15 minute drive away including the airport, 6 cinemas, restaurants, chain stores, banks etc. There are 5 golf courses and a driving range nearby. Toogoom itself has a general store, service station and "Goodys", a waterfront licensed seafood restaurant beside the boat ramp. Let me recommend the seafood platter!
The back yard is fully fenced, there is a kennel, dog bed, and dog bowls.

The house is the perfect beach holiday with your dogs. The beach at the back is just a beyond it’s so beautiful. A woodworld with a sprawling beach and water that is clear and warm to swim in. Can’t wait to get back there.

#### Perfect beach stay with dogs
It was excellent to stay somewhere with close beach access for the dogs, with a deck and fenced area perfect to contain them when we needed to. Kitchen was well equipped with coffee pod machine, air fryer etc and the beds were very comfy.

Beautiful location right on beach. The house was clean and spacious. The extras like working bbq on back deck was lovely. Very relaxing in a quiet area. We really appreciated being able to bring our pooch. Thank you very much we had a great stay.

#### BEACH HOUND STAY
Our stay at this property was fantastic, we absolutely loved it. The only thing we could say is that it would be great if the track behind the house to the beach was widened to a path width as at this stage it is the width of your foot. Would definitely stay here again. Walking distance to the two cafes in Toogoom and short drive to the Convenience Store which does takeaway food at night. Absolutely loved this place and we could take our dog as well. 5 star rating.

Our stay was wonderful, peace, quiet and lovely weather. Only complaint is not enough garbage bags and no pot scouters. We loved the nature, walking distance to coffee shop. We left the car in the garage for the 5 days, no shopping hence my complaint re garbage bags and scouters. My little dog loved the walks

Enjoyed our stay in a friendly neighborhood. A place to relax, right on the beach and in nature. Birdlover’s paradise with conservation areas around, and the backyard! House is very comfortable, well equipped. Loved the outside deck! Our Retriever was in paradise and exhausted from spending hours on the beach and in the water! Brought our sea kayak and enjoyed all the nearby paddle options. We will come back.

What a pleasant surprise to find such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay. The house was so clean and user friendly with everything we needed and comfortable furniture and beds. It was also dog heaven for our Jack Russell Terrier with a safe yard and miles of beach to explore off lead. A huge balcony from which you can see the water and a 50 metre walk through the lush tropical vegetation to the pristine clean sand and water. I have holidayed in various places overseas and in Australia but Hound House will be remembered as one of the most relaxing places I have stayed. We will definitely return to this haven.

#### Brilliant location but pack well!
The location is amazing. A few steps out the back door and you’re on the beach. The house was tidy and the smart tv and wifi a welcome addition in the heat. BYO everything. Bathroom soap & shampoo, fly spray & mozzie repellent, spray oil, sauces etc as nothing is provided except tin foil, hand soap and instant coffee. There is a coffee machine that takes Nespresso pods from Coles. All of the living upstairs so you and your dogs must be fairly agile. Once we did a big supermarket shop, we had a great time. Comfy beds and nice big bedrooms, nice linen. Great house in a fabulous spot. Would definitely re-book.

Pros: lovely quiet location. Great view from back deck over trees and water. Very short walk to beach. Short walk to cafes.Cons: I didn't receive my email with instructions to enter property. When trying to contact host, the phone number and link to connect on Stays didn't work. Phone number on house rang out. I had to go though the Stays bot help texting service which took about 45mins before i could enter the property which was very stressful and not an enjoyable way to start a holiday.There were a few health and safety issues: Black mold on the shade sails covering the deck (unfortunately you had to sit under it if you wanted the nice view). A sliding door feel off its hinges onto me. Luckily i didn't get injured. The fridge is extremely noisy and vibrates the whole house. It leaks water which i discovered when i almost slipped in a large puddle of water. Dishes/cups etc needed to be washed before i could use them. The tefalon fry pans are in a very bad condition and would not be safe to cook food in. Only warm water in kitchen sink. Most TV remotes were not working.Midgies and mozzies very bad in the area. The house is fully flyscreened which is great but on the first night i had to move beds as i was getting bitten by something really bad. I am no expert in bugs or mites all i know is i could not sleep in one of the rooms.

#### Relax........tick!
This was our 2nd stay here and it only improved from last time. Clean, comfortable and homely. Wifi was the improvement and it made a big difference. After arriving, we took a short drive to Hervey Bay for groceries. They were short on a few things that we had to top up (rubbish bags, toilet paper, paper towel, dishwasher tablets, dish cloths). These things shouldn't have to be done. We were well equipped with all things related to mozzies, and that is essential. Very disappointed that there was no bowl for food or water for our dog. Couch outside was a great addition. Bugs at night on the balcony made it IMPOSSIBLE to eat or hangout out there. Maybe bug deterring light bulbs would help with that. Access to the beach is definitely a selling point and its just a very short (2min) walk down to the inlet where we'd recommend a nicer swim.

#### Great proximity to beach, too many cockroaches!
I read most of the reviews before going. Things that others said were missing, garbage bags, TP, paper towels, scourer. I took all of these things with me, however they were not needed. I did take Surface spray and insect spray as others said there were lots of cockroaches, and YES, there were a PLAGUE of cockroaches! I got up the 1st night turned the light on in the kitchen and cockroaches had taken over the kitchen. Most of them were the big fly in ones, there were also some small ones. If the place had some sort in pest spray done I don’t think these cockroaches would be living once they got in the house. After spraying every night, every morning there were dead roaches all over. Even this morning, our last day there was 1 crawling on the ceiling of our bedroom. Screens also need replacing, some are not even sealing the windows. Other than that, an average stay. A real pity because the location is excellent.
