There was plenty of parking. Easy check in, the room was warm and comfortable, food was excellent at dinner and breakfast. The staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay again.
Really enjoyed our overnight stay. The twin room was spacious, beds and pillows so comfortable, and plenty of hot water for showers. The initial problem with the heating was sorted out very quickly. We had our evening meal here, and can highly recommend the food. What really stands out at The Carpenters Arms, is the staff. Many thanks to Richard, Holly and Paula and to everyone that helps make this such a great place. We would certainly be happy to stay again.
Would stay again as better than any place in the local area.
Positives
Clean tidy, good room and relaxed, lovely people who are very helpful. Breath of fresh air compared with other popular local hotels and comparible pricing.
Free onsite car parking
Great food with inclusive breakfast.
Very minor niggles for very fussy people but not enough to drop from a full 5 stars:
-Need to be very careful walking on the road to walk to the bus stop as no pavement so easier with a car.
-Breakfast can be very busy on certain days so plan ahead and ask when quiet/busy times are.
-instant coffee in room was not up to much.
After a long day traveling this property offers a lovely cosy place to unwind. The staff are friendly, the food is delicious, and the rooms are very comfortable.
A fantastic stay at a fantastic place. The staff were superb, the restaurant was outstanding, the room was excellent. Quiet, comfy, warm, excellent wifi.
Can't fault it.
Hotel is very nice with welcoming staff. Room was comfortable and well equipped (hairdryer, iron and ironing board).
The only complaint I have is the tower rail in the bathroom was constantly on and therefore it was boiling in the bathroom. We had to keep the door closed and the bedroom windows open Similarly the heating was bouncing in the corridors, a waste of energy in my opinion.
2 male staff outside early in the morning need to be more considerate. Not sure if they were on a cigarette break but very chatty and noisy outside bedrooms.
A very enjoyable stay. Convenient location for visiting National Trust properties in the area. Quiet and restful. Ample parking.
Excellent breakfast menu if service was a little slow one morning. Poor channel choice on TV.
Lovely pub run by super friendly people. The lady at the pub with short hair (the manager?) was wonderful. Very efficient and went out of her way to accommodate our anxious dog.
The room was comfy with a massive bath tub. Delicious food! Definitely recommend it!
The room was lovely and the shower, in particular, was exceptional: strong water pressure and quick hot water. The most impressive part of our visit was the staff. Every single employee we encountered was friendly and willing to help no matter how crazy our request was. Ruthie, You ROCK!
