Our stay at Baja House was fantastic. What a sweet location. Right in the middle of town but you wouldn't know it. Our host Jose Trejo was fantastic. Answered all of our questions, arranged a day tour of La Paz with Daniel which was fantastic. The hotel has only six rooms and would make a fantastic place for a group of family or friends to take the entire building. Maybe hire a cook... We were immediately wowed and impressed by how well thought out the amenities and conveniences were for guests. Yes, there are roosters and Mexican roosters are not like US roosters, they enjoy socializing and dancing until the wee hours. The ear plugs provided by Baja House were all we needed for a sound slumber. And honestly, an early rise is the best in such a charming town. Allows one to get the lay of the land and find all the best eateries with no crowded streets or corridors. This is the most relaxing place I have ever stayed in. It has only a few rooms. It is beautifully designed and decorated. The beds are comfortable. The back courtyard and pool are lovely. I could spend hours there, lulled by the sound of doves and chickens. Areceli is most kind and helpful and we enjoyed her company. She is there most of the day. You have to use a key code to get in if Araceli isn't there. That was complicated for us as she was out shopping, expecting us later, and we had to figure out the door lock. It took a few tries and then when we got in, we didn't know which room was ours. Anyway, it was resolved and we continued blissfully. This place was everything we were hoping it would be for a stay in Todos Santos. We were looking for quaint with character that fits the vibe of Todos Santos, but with some modern touches and this place delivered. It was so cute...great little private pool, rooftop hot tub and open air lounge area, comfortable clean rooms with an overall earthy deserty oasisy type of feel, and right in the heart of the center of town within stones throw distance of all the galleries, cafes, plazas and attractions. Once we parked our rental car, we never got back in it until we left. We didn't use any of the advertised services such as the breakfast add-on so can't speak to that, but we overall loved it here, will definitely check to see if available next time we come. ##### Wasim Stayed 2 nights in Feb 2024 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Alison Nov 8, 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities Everything was great and we loved our stay but the communication was a little odd - I received an email saying we could get breakfast for $10 each but when I requested it, didn’t hear back. I also wasn’t sure of our room number but when I checked the reservation request, realized it was there, but again never had an answer back. The room and property were very clean, but basic. The only downside was the traffic noise on the street which went on until late in the evening. Maybe a different room would be quieter. There was a white noise machine in the room, so that helped some, but apparently they realize it is necessary. The bed was comfortable, and the wood floor was very creeky, but I guess that adds to the character. If you have large bags the tiny stairs make you feel like you are climbing up to a bell tower. It was very difficult to get up to the top floor. The staircases are like an MC Esher design. The rooms are nicely designed but are quite compact. There is a hot tub on the top floor but it wasn’t ‘hot’ and was so full of chlorine my eyes burned. The biggest issue is that a multiple rooster and chicken pen is right below the rooms on a vacant lot. Forget about leaving the window open. They provide ear plugs and a white nose machine but these roosters are relentless and crow all night long. I barely slept and it never stopped. If you are a light sleeper it likely is not a good option for you. Overall it’s a very nice design but for the price you would hope for a good rest.
