The website does definitely state its rural, so it warns you, but it does also mention that its just 2 buses from Alicante airport, and fails to mention the one hour and 10 minute walk from castalla to the hotel. Totally worth it, beautiful hotel to set up a retreat for yourself for a couple days, but people might struggle in the heat woth the walk if planning on taking buses"
"El Pao was wonderful and we enjoyed our stay. However there were some things that we did not expect. I stayed in the room with the bubble. I think it’s important to note that the only access to the room with the bubble are spiral stairs, not horrible but not also the best. I had the idea that this would be a “bed in breakfast” but because the room could only be accessed by the spiral stairs, the breakfast could not be brought up to the room. "Luxurious B and B accommodations. Room furnished with antique Chinese furniture. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. About a block away and down a set of stairs is free parking. Only a short walk. Town is beautiful and we’ll kept. Plenty of walking and hiking. Museums and tours also."

"Very well situated hotel. Very nice clean room. Helpful staff. Downside is pool and annoying poolside music but the beach is very close. Stayed here three times and if in Alicante again would use this hotel again. "
"Great hotel, situated 1 road back from the beach and less than 10 minutes into the old town and its range of bars a restaurants. Breakfast was lovely and the staff all very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious with a large bathroom.
