Catherine's Gate in Brasov, Romania. It was built by the Tailors’ Guild in 1559 for defensive purposes instead of an old gate destroyed by the flood in 1526. It is named after St. Catherine's Monastery that was situated there in former times. It is the only original city gate to have survived from medieval times. Amazing structure! I was there on a national holiday, so the church was closed and I was unable to enter. Next time!
