The Long Point Tours and Activities

Stayed at the Westwood for a week while attending a conference at the University of Galway. I've not complaints about the place or the staff. Indeed, I quite enjoyed my stay there and would certainly consider staying there again. This said, there are two things I wish I had known about before deciding to stay there: (1) Unless you have your own vehicle, you're largely dependent on bus 404 or taxi to get to/from the city centre (it's a good 50-60min walk each way); and (2) there's no food/drink options in the immediate vicinity by other than a Spar. This said, the food at Kelehan's Bar & Restaurant, which is about 1.5km further up the N59, is superb; as are the pints.

This place was clean, quiet, and safe, and is in a pretty setting near/on estate lands. Very convenient from the highway for access to local tourist spots and Shannon Airport. The hotel is super large and sprawling. It seems to be very popular with young families. At our Expedia rate it was pretty basic in terms of amenities. We took a look at the breakfast, which wasn't included in our rate, and it also seemed basic, so we gave it a pass. Great local bakeries and other spots to choose from though, so that shouldn't stop you. Good value overall.

We were accomodated in a lovely 3 double bed apartment, each with own bathroom and a kitchen living room. One of the rooms was disabled access so was bigger more spacious with level access shower. The two other rooms smaller . Kitchen/living bright and comfortable.believe laundry facilities, gym tennis court. Roof terrace Staff amazing! So accomodating friendly and professional. Location perfect. Will definitely be back. Hope students look after property so it remains high standard for next summer trip!
