"Room was shabby, furniture scratched and well-worn. Bathroom icy cold. However, on bringing these points to the attention of the staff, a heater was delivered - thank you. Obviously there was no quick solution to the shabbiness of the room (suite 2 Manor House). Some of the food was poor, but again on raising this, staff dealt with it. On balance, we feel the staff did what they could to manage our concerns."

"Accessible room. We love the spacious room with a fridge (so useful for some medication). The room was clean and stocked with basic tea, coffee and milk. The bed is a double. We would prefer a king-size but there would be less space around the bed. The mattress was very soft and not supportive. "Lovely friendly staff, always remembering that I stayed before. We get the room we have requested. We order a vegetarian roast which is outstanding, food delicious and hot. Plenty of parking. Depending where the room is you can hear the traffic going past in the evening & mornings but overall alovely stay. That's why we keep going back and also you have a choice of breakfast part of the deal."

"It started badly when, upon entering the room, there was a smell of cigarette smoke. Clearly, the room should have been decommissioned until it could be properly cleaned and fumigated. As the property operates on an automated basis (the key is retrieved from a key safe with a code supplied by email), there was no receptionist on duty. Luckily, we managed to find a helpful cleaner who was still on the premises, who was able to arrange for an alternative room. Although better, the room did not...
