The one thing we found that was slightly off-putting was that the photos on-line are designed to make the hotel look new, modern and spacious, when in fact it's a beautifully restored older building with smaller bedrooms, tiny elevators, and lovely winding staircases. There's enough modern hotels go around. Please brag about this lovely unique hotel on the waterfront of the Aussen-Alster See.

It is extremely convenient to the central train station, which is why I chose it. But this means noise of all kinds, non-stop. I was also told by my friend not to go in the direction away from the train station when coming out of the hotel because there is a lot of crime nearby. I didn’t see city police or hotel security in the vicinity at all, and did not go out at night.

We stayed for one night on our way to Copenhagen. The property is well managed, elevator is a bit small but working as it's supposed to be, room and bathroom are clean. Mattres is in a good condition. Our room was facing the opposite of the Hbf and it was nice and quiet in the evening.

"Checking in and out was good.Room size was not correct , too small. Real old elevator from 1972 without door obstruction sensor . Door closes on us when whether we were in elevator or not. "The location of the hotel close to a lake and not far from the South beach is good, 1-1.5 km walk to the museum and not too far into town. Spacious room with good facilities. Could advertise better where to reccycle items such as cans and plastic."
