"Cosy traditional b&b room above the pub itself, surprisingly quiet (never heard a sound) even though the pub below is a very popular place and full every night. Nice breakfast, good evening meal, can’t fault the place. Patrick and the locals were very friendly, we happily chatted amongst them all evening on both nights we stayed. "I wasn't provided with check in instructions, so when I arrived I felt a bit lost. I asked inside Greggs and Subway, they informed me that I had to go to the petrol station to collect my room key, it was smooth from there. Room was clean and tidy. Bathroom needed a little TLC, cracks on the bath, ceiling, marks on the floor. Had free WiFi, TV, and tea / coffee facilities. Bed was comfy and clean. Good value for money. Would stay again as very convenient for short trip"

"A short overnight stay was comfortable and pleasant. Lovely atmosphere in the bar when we arrived, bed was comfortable and breakfast was fully and plenty of options. Everywhere was tidy and staff were super helpful."

"Excellent position right on the high street, newly refurbished room looking over the Main Street in Lyme. Great shower and ensuite, excellent white bed linen. Excellent breakfast with lovely friendly serving staff, and very good coffee. I have stayed before and often there is no one manning the bar and you have to delay to be served. For a pub hotel this is a great stay. Shame last time I stayed the swimming pool was out of action with a broken lock and again this time it was out of action."

"A little dated and basic, but was very pleasantly surprised! Enjoyed my spontaneous night here with the dog, staff very kind and helpful. Big cups in the room, with nice biscuits and Yorkshire tea! Very affordable too for the night, would very happily return - given at a services, I didn’t hear the motorway at all! I stayed for convenience, not a ‘need’ and personally for £37 a night, I’d happily go back again!"

"The bedroom and bathroom were clean and tidy and tastefully decorated. We had booked a double room, the bed was very small, not adequate for two people, in fact when my husband turned over I fell out of the bed. So I am afraid we didn’t feel relaxed and refreshed the next morning. The dining experience was very limited, mainly Chinese food, obviously catered by a Chinese restaurant. The bottle of wine was very expensive, very over priced. Breakfast was good. We felt the host could have been more welcoming and pro-active."
