This home is nestled at the base of Camelback Mountain and is just a couple of minutes to the 33 lighted slopes on Camelback Ski Resort. This home, being a year round rental is available to take advantage of all the Poconos has to offer. Being along side Camelbeach waterpark offers quick access to the many waterslides, pools and even a wave pool for your family to enjoy. If you're the outdoor type, just a couple of minutes away is Camelback Adventure park featuring the longest zip lines in the country. The top of Camelback Mountain you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or just the fantastic views at Big Pocono State Park which include eastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York and New Jersey If relaxing is on the agenda, you can enjoy the warmth of a fire in the cozy living room. The house was perfect for my son & daughter-in-law, 2 grandchildren and myself. After skiing each day, we enjoyed the hot tub! Played Uno and then watched a movie. The instructions were very clear for entering the house and what needed to be done before departing. Thank you to the owner and to VRBO! Emilio has been the perfect host! We have stayed at a lot of cabins all over and he is by far the best! The home is just as pictured but so much better in person. You will be right in the center of all kinds attractions, whether you have children or a romantic getaway, you will not be bored. We are very outdoorsy people and explored trails, Bushkill falls and went fishing all over. Emilio was great with suggestions as well. The dogs loved laying by the full length windows on both sides of the front door so they could see out. Nice open kitchen, family room, and dining area. Spacious bedrooms and closet space. Great screened in back deck with hottub that we used every day. The community pool was also very nice, and we were happy to find that it was heated because the temp was in the low 70s for most of our stay. There is a new front deck on the house where my husband enjoyed napping in his hammock. New kitchen appliances. Reliable wifi that accommodated all of our cellphones and laptops. We hit the waterpark, the casino, the golf couse, the tennis courts, the pool, the movie theater, the bowling alley, and did some local shopping, so there is plenty to do around the area. From the house and in the neighborhood, we saw lots of deer, chipmunks, squirrels, lizards, and even a big black bear! The owner, Emilio, was pleasant, easy to deal with, and answered all my questions very promptly. The house was comfortable and perfect sized for us, and the neighborhood was quiet (this was off season, I can’t speak for ski or water park season). The downstairs furniture , while worn, was quite comfortable. The appliances and hot tub were all in working order ( the hot tub jets were a little weak, but all working, and it held its temperature well). Emilio was the perfect host, responding to any questions or issues immediately and in a friendly way. The reason I give it a 4, rather than 5, star review is due to the fact that the front deck was being worked on, and the deck and picnic table were unusable during the week we were there, as well as the fact that we had to use the garage for entry/exit during our stay. Some other minor issues are the house could use some updated cookware, especially a new frying pan, new fluffy pillows, and the jets in the hot tub need to be looked at. Also the master bedroom mattress was too soft for my liking. FYI the morning sun floods the master bedroom with light, if that bothers you a sleep mask is recommended. Aug 1, 2018 #### The homeowner, Mr. Emilio Valles, is wonderful to deal with and hugely accomodating. My family (2 adults, 2 kids and dog) were staying at a different location in the Poconos when we were suddenly forced to leave because of an issue with the home. We were in a bind and did not want to lose our family vacation for the week as we had only been there one night. We checked the VRBO site for anything that was available last minute. That was when we came across Mr. Valles's property. Fortunately, Mr. Valles's home was only twenty-five minutes from our previous location. Mr. Valles contacted me when I was still on the phone with the VRBO representative booking the property. I explained my family's situation to Mr. Valles and he was very empathetic and accommodating. He arranged for a cleaning crew to come to the home early so my family and I would not be "homeless" for a night. Mr. Valles responded immediately by phone or text to any questions we had about the property. The home itself sits in a very nice community and is only a stone's throw to all the amenities the Camelback Resort has to provide. The home is very clean and had more than enough room to accommodate our family. The hot tub is located on a covered back deck we were able to enjoy even though we had a ton of rain during the week. The beds were comfortable and the kids really enjoyed the "bunk bed bedroom." I would definitely recommend Mr. Valles's home to family and friends if they wanted a mountain setting in the Poconos. ##### Jason B. Stayed 5 nights in Jul 2018 ### 6/10 Okay #### Regina B. The home was in the perfect location for our family gathering and facilities were as advertised. BUT: hot water heater circuit breaker kept tripping; we reset over 15 times in 3 days to keep water warm. Was inconvenient, and for me, who discovered it with a cold shower, it was unacceptable. Truly, owner promptly responded with where breaker box was, but I just wanted an apology. A few cobwebs and a couple of ants; one window was dirty where a prior guest had clearly had a pooch (dog-nose markings). Finally, the home needs some care: a bit of paint on the front door and replacement of wood on the front porch steps (rather risky to access front door carrying infant). Finally, renter be aware: while fireworks are not "allowed" we had a full hour of 11p-midnight, warzone level fireworks event (shook the windows) and no security would respond (local said it was states' area; state said Camelback security had turf; Camelback security line just rang and rang.) It was awful. At 9pm, would have been fine, but at midnight - not ok! This isn't the homeowner's fault, but there should be enforcement if there is going to be postings of a rule all over.
