Experience a challenging yet unforgettable full-day hiking trip through abundant nature at the Tamarind Falls reserve. Find friendly, local guides at the bus station in the nearby town of Henrietta. Book a guided tour suitable for all trekking abilities and begin your hike next to the Tamarind Falls Reservoir at mid-morning with a safety and equipment briefing.

Follow your instructors uphill through deep forest for the first 40 minutes of the trek. Admire exotic tropical plants and colorful native birds as you listen to the tranquil sound of flowing water. After your picturesque hill climb, you will reach a rocky plateau at the top of the first waterfall on the hiking route.

Take in views over Le Morne Mountain and Mauritius’ west coast from the top of this canyon. Mauritius is a volcanic island marvel at views over spectacular summits and valleys throughout your Tamarind Falls trek. If you are feeling adventurous, take a supervised 22-foot (7-meter) jump down the cascade of the waterfall into deep, cool waters. It’s also possible to abseil down the falls with the help of your guide or climb down a steep path to the next plateau.

Enjoy a refreshing dip in the calm water at the base of the waterfall and receive a natural massage under the cascade of the falls. Discover an additional 10 waterfalls along the trail and jump or abseil down them with the assistance of your instructor. Explore all of their deep, secluded natural pools amid lush greenery.

Have your camera ready to capture the natural beauty that surrounds you. Reach Tamarind Falls in 10 minutes from the small village of Henrietta via taxi or rental car. From the more popular oceanfront village of Tamarin, the drive will take 35 minutes. While on vacation in Mauritius, enjoy an adventurous day in glorious nature at Tamarind Falls.
