"The room size is impressive for Japan. Though the layout of the furniture is kind of baffling. Basically most of the outlets are blocked by the beds and the couch and there are no side tables near the outlets. So you’ll need to get a bit creative with how you charge your devices. The couch is also poorly positioned to watch the TV. You can wash dishes but there isn’t really a practical way to dry them. The washer is good but the clothes drying system isn’t the most effective. But the shower / bath room is nice. For some reason there were only about 1.3 rolls of toilet paper when we arrived and no amenities closed with more. They also don’t clean at all during your stay. You’re in for about a 12 minute walk to the station to do anything but the neighbourhood is nice and there are a bunch of restaurants and konbinis on the way. The check-in option with a video call iPad is also kinda clunky. It was fine for us but I watched a British family struggling to explain to the attendant their passport problem. It’s a decent option if you just need to stay a few days. It definitely felt spacious."

"Convenient location but less so if it’s raining/ snowing as it’s not a fully sheltered walk. Good range of amenities provided. Room size is on the small size, can’t open up 2 medium sized luggages fully. But the toilet was very spacious, likely for accessibility. Didn’t like that the beds face the toilet door, and the toilet light will light up the whole room in the middle of the night. The check in and check out process was entirely via self service machine which wasn’t too hard to use. Staff were polite. Daily housekeeping available and adequate. Laundry, ice machine, vending machines all available."

"At this point, I've probably stayed at a dozen APA locations across Japan. This property is probably the oldest, or at least the oldest that might have the original interior. Staff was great, room was clean, but the bathroom is so old it doesn't have a vent fan, combined with tile and grout shower, there just will be some amount of mildew and mold. I have stayed at another chain hotel in Matsuyama and it too was quite old, so I still think this is probably one of the better budget hotels."
