The problem was a faulty extractor fan that was constantly making a noise all night and we were unable to sleep. Staff were understanding and caring about this. Restaurant bij het hotel is prima. In directe omgeving ook prima restaurants en koffietentjes aanwezig. Voor het in- en uitchecken moet je wel in het andere deel (boutique hotel) zijn. We stayed at the hotel above the restaurant, not the boutique part of the hotel. The proceeds very reasonable and the hotel reached out ahead of time to warn us that evenings can be noisy due to the bar downstairs. We did hear some activity at night but nothing my noise canceling sleep headphones and the air conditioning couldn’t handle. Maybe we got lucky with our assigned room? Not sure, but I would definitely recommend to try this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and even gave us beach towels and held onto our luggage until check-in was available. Great location. Easy walk to the beach, coastal walk, or catch the local buses. Room was spotless. Housekeeping did great job sprucing up room each morning. Enjoyed having the balcony to relax on at night. Air conditioning in room was a bit temperamental. I would set the temperature to the lowest setting to cool the room down, and sometimes the room temperature would actually get hotter. It worked fine most of the time except my last night. No elevator in the Bay side was a challenge for carrying luggage (thankfully reception helped during check in), was a nuisance upon checking out - was given fair warning, but can imagine this being an issue for limited mobility guests.
