The house is well stocked and comfortably furnished for all your needs. The grounds are beautiful, with perennial flower gardens, outdoor seating, and a pond. It is serene and private with a mountain view. Ellen, the host, is friendly and communicates very well. We would definitely stay again if we return to the area. The property is absolutely beautiful with everything we needed for a one week stay. The owner was friendly and responsive to our needs. She lives on the property so it was very easy to reach her, she gave us her cell number too in case we needed anything. It is a large space with a large bathroom and a fully stocked kitchen (this was nice because we hosted our parents for dinner) and it had everything we needed. Close to Stowe, Smugglers Notch, and many local villages and attractions. Clean and nicely appointed, comfortable bed and lots of cooking tools (I love to cook a lot, we only eat out once or twice when we come up). The big front windows overlook the little pond and the beautiful grounds, and we can see the sun come up over the cloud shrouded mountaintops most mornings. It’s lovely. Ellen was a very gracious hostess, and was especially kind to help us when we experienced a flat tire (she hooked us up with a local repair shop, and drove us to purchase groceries during the repair.) The property was beautiful and peaceful, with plenty of space to walk our dog on the property itself, and on the adjacent road. The views are amazing, every window looks out onto beautiful scenery, the house itself is beautiful and has lots of cooking tools (I'm a big cook, so this is important to me), comfortable queen sized bed, and nice roomy clean bathroom. Ellen, our host, is my favorite host ever. She is friendly and available when/if needed, and just a great person all around. We love Ellen! We only had a couple of days for a quick get away but it was worth the trip. My communication with Ellen was easy and she made checking in totally hassle free. The place is perfect, homey and comforting, and the property, even though it was winter, I could tell would be magical in the warmer months. The view out the living room window made it hard to get up and get going but we did some exploring. My partner, small dog, and I stayed for an idyllic week that combined remote work and vacation. The open floor-plan has several well defined areas and it was easy to stay out of each other's way / maintain separate work spaces throughout the week. (It may be tougher for two people who need to be on a lot of calls or virtual meetings.) I loved watching the rain and the trees through the large windows. The paintings by Ellen's mother are fantastic and inspired me to get back to my own art practice. Ellen is a warm, thoughtful, and gracious host. It was a fantastic experience! The space is designed as one big open space (like a studio) with very large windows overlooking a pond. It is extremely cozy and quiet. Note that there are no shades to block out light so you might want to bring an eye mark of you are sensitive to light in the morning. It snowed quite a bit but Ellen was very communicative with us and a snow plower came to ensure the path was clear. I still recommend to come with a sturdy SUV and snow tires during winter. I also recommend guests to shop groceries before arriving as the local shops are quite basic.The kitchen was well equipped which was very useful as we cooked everyday! The only downside was that the gas fireplace was not working and we didn’t know about it, it would have made the atmosphere even cozier. ##### Maud B. My husband and I stayed here for over two weeks this month and it was just perfect for a couple. We used the Pondhouse as our space for remote work. The house is well-equipped for those who like to cook. All the necessary pots, pans, spices, etc., are provided. The house is filled with light due to the gorgeous windows. Dozens of lovely paintings from the owner's mother (a professional artist) adorn the walls. After spending our mornings working, we found the house to be centrally located to so many great hiking spots and then great breweries for after hike beers. It is the perfect Vermont get away. The owner lives in her own house on the property and is very attentive and generous. Ellen works hard to make sure her guests have everything they need. I can't wait to go back! ##### Alex H.
