About this property

A grand, newly renovated villa in a castle setting

  • Welcome to Förvaltarvillan at Stora Sundby,

    In the courtyard grounds of Stora Sundby Castle stands Förvaltarvillan, with wonderful views over the castle. It was designed and built in the 1840s by master builder Abraham Nyström as a home for the estate's and castle's steward.

    The villa has been tastefully renovated and spans two floors, with a dining room and lovely sitting rooms for gathering. It offers a large garden, a glazed veranda, and six double rooms, two of them en-suite and two sharing a family bathroom. There is also an additional family bathroom and a guest WC on both the ground floor and upper floor. A conference TV with Apple TV and Chromecast is available on site.

    The villa is perfect for smaller conferences and corporate events – or simply for enjoying the countryside and the beautiful surroundings around Stora Sundby Castle and the wonderful Lake Hjälmaren, together with friends or family.

    During summer, the café in the castle park is open from 11am to 4pm, and year-round you can enjoy beautiful walking trails through the park, past the deer enclosure and along the shores of Hjälmaren. It's just 300 metres to the beach, a 5-minute drive to the grocery store, and a bus station with public transport to Eskilstuna. A dream place to stay in every season.

Excellent stay at this villa

We spend the Christmas at this wonderful villa and we had an excellent time.We were 14 people in a combination of both adults abd children. We had everything we needed in the house in terms of facilities and equipment. In a case were we needed something it was provided the next day.Mauritz was an excellent host.

Eine sehr grosszügige, im altmodischen Baustil - aber modern renovierte Unterkunft in einer ländlichen Gegend. Die Zimmer sind gestylt eingerichtet und es mangelt auch in der gut ausgestatteten Küche an nichts. Da es mehrere Schlaf- und Badezimmer hat, ist es auch ideal für mehrere Pärchen oder zwei befreundete Familien, die gerne eine schöne Zeit zusammen verbringen möchten. Der Kontakt mit dem Besitzer war sehr warmherzig und zuverlässig, alles war bestens vorbereitet bei unserer Ankunft. Wir haben diese Unterkunft sehr genossen.
