Less than 2 hours from DC! You can hike to the Appalachian trail from your front steps! Less than twenty minutes from Luray and countless activities including canoeing, cave tours, vineyards, restaurants, hunting, fishing, Big Meadows, and hiking. Beautiful private woods & relaxing creek sounds. Fishing pond. Pets allowed for a fee. The space Private one of a kind treehouse on the property built in 2017 included with the rental! Property also has a historic 1700's log cabin on it. Private community fishing lake with dock and fire pit. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin & treehouse, and there is plenty of parking for several vehicles at the end of the private driveway. Third bedroom is the treehouse loft. Other things to note PETS Pets allowed for an additional fee of $35\. Two pet maximum. WINTER ACCESS \*\*IMPORTANT: December – March bookings: During the winter months, a four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle may be required to access the property; please plan accordingly. While many days are mild, the forecast can change quickly. Amenities were very good, well stocked kitchen too. The only reason not to give 5 stars was that the cabin could have been cleaner when we arrived. It might be helpful to note that the Treehouse is a good 50 yards down the lane from the main cabin and is accessed by some potentially challenging steps depending on your mobility. The mattress there is more of a pad. It was fine for our teens but wouldn’t recommend for most adults. Loved the privacy and the pond for fishing. Kitchen could use a few more supplies. Everything was labeled and organized so we were able to find everything we needed easily. The host always responded quickly. We traveled with two small children and there was never a dull moment on the property with all of the children amenities provided. We enjoyed the fire pit and community pond for fishing. The gravel road had steep inclines as mentioned on the site but we were able to make it with our midsize suv. We had a great weekend! It was just we needed, isolated without being too far from the necessities and activities we wanted to experience. The treehouse was pretty cool. The host was able to accommodate us on short notice after our first reservation fell through. The treehouse ‘bedroom’ looks like fun, but definitely not for the faint of heart in colder weather like when we visited. The wood stove is lovely. If you go in winter, you may want to buy some drier kindling yourself to get the fire going, some of the logs supplied were a little wet and hard to light, but nothing insurmountable.
