Located on Gifft Hill, 750 feet above sea level, Coconuts features a unique combination of panoramic ocean views, spectacular sunsets, extensive outdoor living and dining areas, and numerous high-end amenities. The ocean views are among the finest on St. John, and include up to twenty islands, stretching from French Cap in the south to Grass Cay in the north, and as far away as Vieques and Puerto Rico. Coconuts is known for its spectacular, year-round sunsets, and at night, the twinkling lights of St. Thomas beckon across the waters of Pillsbury Sound. The flat, hilltop location of Coconuts ensures complete privacy and gentle tropical breezes, as well as a flat driveway with ample room for several cars. The entrance is framed by large palm trees, and the grounds include a magnificent Flamboyant, gently sloping side and lower lawns, lush tropical landscaping, and mature fruit trees. The many restaurants and shops of Cruz Bay are only a ten minute drive away, all on newly paved major roads. Coconuts is fully air conditioned for your comfort, with whisper-quiet split A/C units. The pool is solar heated, and at night, the pool light slowly changes colors, with its diffuse hues illuminating the courtyard. The seven-person hot tub is mounted flush with the main deck, and offers panoramic ocean and sunset views. The addition of wide, gentle stairs down to the new lower sundeck provides unobstructed “infinity deck” ocean views from the entrance, pool, and deck chairs. Coconuts single-level floor plan consists of four hip-roofed buildings centered around the solar heated pool and interior courtyard, and connected by decks, covered walkways, and patio gardens. Coconuts provides the ultimate in Caribbean indoor/outdoor living. Its outdoor living areas include an interior garden courtyard, the main pool deck with its large, built-in spa, the gazebo with its dining table, couch, chairs, and outdoor sound system, the new billiard porch with its pool table, outdoor kitchen and sound system, and a large lower sundeck with wrap-around bench seating. Unusual for St. John, Coconuts' grounds are flat and walkable, with large front and side lawns, gorgeous tropical landscaping, and mature fruit trees. An elegant and accurate brass sundial graces the ocean view lawn, and botanical plant labels identify many of the plantings. Dining options are extensive, and include the great room table for six, the gazebo dining table for six, and granite counter dining for six by the outdoor kitchen. Dine in the gazebo, at a table with some of the finest ocean and sunset views on St. John. Coconuts is among only a few St. John villas that offer two kitchens; a fully enclosed main kitchen with a breakfast bar for entertaining the chef, and a complete outdoor kitchen facing the view in the billiard porch. We were provided with so many helpful references for travel to the island, rental cars and instructions once arriving. Kevin met us at the house and gave us the perfect walk through. There are so many small touches that made the week extra special. He was always available when we had questions, came to heat the pool for the kids and even brought them fresh coconuts and showed them how to drink from them. They have really turned Coconuts into a dream vacation spot. The sunsets cannot be beat from this location. All of the ammenities like the warm sparkling pool, the outdoor grill/patio, hot tub , telescope, hammock, and patio table for playing cards under the stars were used every single day!!! Each of us had our own spaces. The kitchen was a separate space. That allowed our early risers to not bother anyone else. Danielle met us on our arrival. She did a great job of welcoming us and giving us a tour of the house. The house was perfect. Great outdoor spaces and the view was spectacular. They had everything that we needed for our stay, including coffee and beach stuff. We would for sure stay here again. ##### Jason E. Coconuts is perfect for a family with all age children, or a group of adults looking for an amazing, secluded villa experience. The amenities are vast. You can relax on the lounge chairs by the pool, play some pool, or relax in the hot tub after sunset with the sparkling view of St. Thomas. Kevin and Danielle’s recommendations for transportation were top notch, we used Max for the entire week on the island, he was always on time and up for any last minute changes. Loved the Dutch pod design. Having 2 of the bedrooms separate from the main house allowed for privacy,with each having its own bathroom. The outside area was great. Having a pool,hot tub,pool table,kitchen and dining area. This is where we spent most of our time when we were at the house. The location was also great. Cruz bay is only a 10 minute car ride away with many beaches reachable within 25 minutes. We also discovered some great local places just minutes from the house. The people of St John couldn’t have been more friendly. We only had 2 small issues and the home owners resolved them within hours. We would definitely rent this house again. ##### John S. We spent a lot of time in the outdoor areas (kitchen, pool, hot tub, gazebo). Coconuts has many nice amenities, and there are detailed instructions where necessary. We used the burr grinder and coffee maker, the outdoor grill, the spa, and the pool table, and outdoor Bluetooth speakers. We used the 103” projector/screen to watch a DVD, and there is a Roku if you want to stream things. Kevin and Danielle were responsive to any needs/questions. I had spent a few weeks on St Thomas and St John in 1968\. My daughters & I all work in the medical fields in very stressful jobs. Coconuts was the perfect place to kick back and relax! We took full advantage of the indoor and outdoor kitchens, the pool & jacuzzi. The bedrooms offer lots of privacy and individual AC units let us all keep as cool as we wanted. We loved the view and outdoor entertaining area. We cooked all our meals outside on the cooktop and had the best time! The pool was nice and cool which was so nice to cool off in after a day of exploring the island. The hosts were so helpful anytime we had a question. We just returned from our stay at Coconuts and we are thrilled with the choice we made to stay at this lovely villa. The location is excellent - easy access to any of the beaches on the island and we went to many! The property is unique given its amount of land and location at the top of a hill. This provides a generally flat lot with an absolutely AMAZING view! And the landscaping is equally amazing with a lush garden of flowering plants and trees. The owners, Kevin & Danielle, have thought of just about everything you would want and have made it available - coolers, shade tent, chairs, beach towels, snorkeling gear (though we brought our own), and even a vacuum to clean out the rental car before returning. Everything is well documented and in good working order. The AC units were more than sufficient to quickly cool rooms even on the hottest days. Water pressure was sufficient and the outdoor kitchen is a huge benefit. Hard to find anything to be critical about. The property is close to the road and dumpsters are nearby which means some noise from the road and frequent visits from the junglefowl and feral cat community. Neither of these things detracted from our stay, but are worth noting. Kudos to Kevin & Danielle. Our family (wife and I, four children ages 8-15) had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space, with the fantastic view across the water to St. Thomas. The pool, hot tub, and billiards table were all wonderful. We used the telescope at night to see the craters of the moon. Everything was in good condition and working order.
