The location is wonderful and peaceful. A decent but doable 20 mins walk into St.Ives, means that you can escape the crowds and enjoy birdsong and views of the sea from the garden.The house is lovely and cosy, with a gorgeous and well equipped kitchen. The living rooms are spacious and the conservatory is a wonderful sun trap in the early evening. The small garden is perfect for relaxing in. Its full of character and charm has loads of space and the owners have thought of everything with regards making stay comfortable with games ping pong etc. Excellently equipped with all needs in kitchen etc. The only thing I would suggest is stating in the description that there is a penthouse apartment in the loft with private side access. It has a terrace which overlooks the garden. It didnt affect our stay or anything but might be an idea to state this as the penthouse description does state that it is located in the loft of the farmhouse and that there may be noise from garden below. But the farmhouse description doesnt disclose that theres a penthouse in loft. Just a suggestion. As I said we had a great week. ##### June T. The house and its contents were spotlessly clean and the house was so well equipped, including things like a baby carrier (which came in very handy on long beach walks), a knife sharpener, fruit salad bowls... you name it. Nothing was missing. The cottage has a cosy feel when the weather is inclement outside with a lovely log burner in the sitting room, but is wonderful and light on sunny days with several cosy nooks for reading such as the front conservatory or the back kitchen conservatory overlooking the garden. Sadly, due to the chilly winds, we didn't get much use out of the garden, but on a sunny day it would be perfect spot for a bbq, game of table tennis or sunbathing: secluded and well kept with sea views. Overall I would recommend this house to anyone and would definitely stay again. ##### Julia D. ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Andrew P. 10 déc. 2019 Points forts : Propreté #### Retained deposit The property was attractively presented and comfortable, the location was quiet and scenic. While the owners apparently live nearby they did not introduce themselves. After our stay we were very surprised when they communicated that they were retaining half of the deposit on two counts - a stain on a single mattress (not sheet) and water being in the vacuum cleaner that was giving off smell and noise. Neither of these issues - if they existed at all - related to us. The owners said that they had ‘noticed’ a sheet being dried during our stay, and that is true. My daughter’s monthly cycle started unexpectedly and that we dealt with. She was in a double room and that was the sheet they ‘noticed’ being dried. They raised no issue with that sheet, mattress cover or mattress - quite rightly - because there was none. Not all the single beds were even slept in and we left no stain on sheet or mattress in any of them. The vacuum cleaner worked fine when we used it and there was no unusual noise, smell or water issues. A later email said that the wood stove front glass was cracked and that this was our fault. The glass was cracked as we noticed when first using it, this did not affect its function and so was not a problem that needed raising by us. We left a very positive written review in the visitor book and separately communicated some areas where improvement could be made directly to them. This was done in good faith to support the unseen owners business. The owners did not engage with our rebuttals and decided to retain the nice round deposit number anyway. In doing so they have lost our respect. We left the property in good order, taking time to clean and tidy the place, even though a fee for cleaning was part of the rent. I do not know how to account for the attitude and action of the owners, it has rather ruined the holiday experience being disagreeable, disappointing and a bit creepy. ##### Andrew P. The kitchen with the uninterrupted views to the garden were lovely. Everything you needed in a kitchen was here & more. Lounge/dining area was more than ample and very comfortable, utility room was a great addition, well equipped. Bedrooms/bathrooms more than adequate in size & numbers. Grandson commandeered the trampoline, play/pool/toy room was a great area for him, toys, puzzles, books. It was great place to come back to after a long day at the beach or a day sightseeing. The various rooms meant that we had a lot of space for us all to do different things and we even used the outdoor trampoline when we had fine weather. The location is good being only a half hour walk to St Ives if you don't want to take the car and there is lots of good walking and a nature reserve in the immediate area, so great for dogs too.
