A Great Place to Stay!

We recently rented The Mermaid's Tale for our short stay in St. Augustine. The cottage had everything we needed for our trip. It was clean, cozy, well-stocked and Sherri was an attentive host. Walking to St.George Street only took a few minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely book this rental again in the future!

St Augustine Stay

Property as advertised - very clean and comfortable. An easy 10-15 minute walk to historic downtown depending on which part you’re going to. Host was great - check-in and out procedures communicated clearly. Would definitely stay there again.

Awesome as always!

The Mermaid’s Tale is a fantastic home in a great location with awesome owners! The home is a perfect, cozy home away from home that we feel blessed we discovered. It is fully equipped and always perfectly clean! It was our 3rd time staying, and we are looking forward to another visit next year!!

All we could have hoped for

I booked this trip to celebrate my granddaughter and my birthday. We had a great time!! The Mermaid’s Tail was not only in a great location, but it was also an adorable home. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck each night having wonderful conversations together. We created some beautiful memories!! Thank you for everything, Sherri!

The cottage was exactly what we needed. It felt like home away from home. It was clean and comfortable. We were able to walk to downtown Saint Augustine from the cottage without difficulty. We loved it!!!

Cute home within walking distance of downtown

Our family stayed at this charming home for the weekend. It was within walking distance of downtown and were able to walk to dinner and all the attractions we wanted. The home is beautiful and clean. It had all the amenities that make a stay more enjoyable such as soaps, paper products, and toiletries. They even had chocolates on our pillows Sherri was very attentive and check in and check out instructions were very clear.

Beautiful and quaint home, perfect location

Pictures do not do this home justice. As soon as you walk in you feel the warmth of this home. We had a perfect stay, could not ask for anything better. Home well stocked with necessities. My son and I like to walk and we were able to do so, more sidewalks would be helpful.

Quaint and Charming Cottage

This is our second stay at The Mermaid's Tale, and we just love everything about this cottage. Immaculately clean and comfortable. Close distance to Old Town St. Augustine, short walk to shopping, restaurants, and historic attractions. Peaceful neighborhood, just perfect for an evening stroll. Love the deck and new fire area.

What's not to love?

Great stay in a beautifully designed, cozy comfortable place. Loved the historic neighborhood, the comfortable beds and cute porch for morning coffee. It was just me and my husband for a few nights, but we loved the homey quiet feel, in contrast to a full day of activities. We'll be back for sure!

Wonderful stay

Perfect stay for us. Very nice decor, loved the patio & outdoor lighting. The first day the dog next door was outside & barking but that didn’t happen again. We didn’t use the extra room with bunk beds but that would be great for a couple with kids. The location in Lincolnville was great- literally steps from the cultural center, close to the fish camp & ice house on Riberia street & walkable (about a mile) to downtown St Augustine. It was a great value & we’d stay there again.

Quick get a way

Beautifully appointed, lovely outdoor spaces with comfortable furniture. Location was perfect for easy walking to town. Owner very responsive and helpful when we had issue getting football game on TV. The property met and exceded our expectations. Throughly enjoyed our stay

We had a perfect week at the Mermaid's Tale. The cottage was beautifully restored with all the amenities. Interior design well done and conducive to relaxation. Location could not be better as we walked everywhere. The off-street parking really nice to have. Finally, the neighborhood was fun to just stroll around and enjoy the many quaint homes and gardens

Possibly our favorite VRBO yet!

We loved this rental - clean, comfortable, nice decor (cute mermaid touches), quiet, convenient, had everything we needed. Cool neighborhood with lots of history. Easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. It was nice to have off street parking. Loved the front porch and deck on the side. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed. Great communication with our host. Wonderful time!

Best host! Best location!

Sherri is a wonderful host — always responsive and generous. The home was perfect. We didn’t get on our car once, the old city is a bike ride or a walk away. Everything we needed was provided, the kitchen is fully equipped. It’s actually more beautiful than the photos show. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Sherri, for an amazing refuge.

Several blocks from most of historic area but walkable and with trolley stop at end of block. Adorable decor. Lovely shady deck on side. Everything in good condition. Plenty of towels. Kitchen well-equipped and supplied. Off-street parking. Good lighting both interior and exterior. Light switches well-labeled.It’s hard to find something to criticize.Pretty safe side-street for kids.

What a nice surprise!!!

Attention to details and making the rental seem like home was extremely above average. We totally enjoyed just hanging in the house because it was so warm and welcoming. Great location if you are mobile. Just minutes away from the historic district. We were told neighborhood was IFFY but we found it to be very safe, very friendly and full of history and charm.

We only stayed 4 nights. The house was immaculate & comfortable. The only thing that we missed were luggage racks for our suitcases, a minor inconvenience. I'd to add that the coffee maker has a timed feature but is difficult to read. We learned the hard way to not plug the unit in until we were ready to brew.

Amazing!

From pre-check in to departure Sherri was an excellent host. The cottage is tastefullly decorated with an obvious attention to detail. Modern appliances, beautifully finished wood floors, a great bathroom and a comfortable master bedroom make this an ideal vacation spot. With three separate outdoor seating areas, front porch, side porch and side yard it is an extremely relaxing setting. Easy walking distance to all the in town attractions allowed us to leave the car in the driveway for our entire stay. We highly recommend the “Mermaid” and Sherrie! We definitely will be back again.

Best VRBO ever!

Pleasantly surprised at how easy to find, check in, and settle in. Proximity to all the fun places downtown, a 10 for sure. Galleries, restaurants, the Trolly, museums, the list too long to add. Host was terrific! And the house spotless. The kitchen? Very well appointed, very cook-friendly. My lady-friend and I will be returning to St. Augustine, and will only stay at this, the perfect, get-a-way home. ☺️
