You’ll love our place because of the location, the views, the pool, the serenity, the bushwalks, swimming in the Macdonald River. You can dine in the gardens of the Settlers Arms Inn, or indoors near a cosy fire, in one of their indoor dining rooms. We are dog friendly, family friendly, good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers. AND, we have no mobile phone reception - disconnect for a bit! The space The building is the historic courthouse, built in the 1890's by convict settlers. It has now converted to comfortable weekend accommodation. It has holding cells, which are now bathrooms (with underfloor heating), and causal dining area in the old exercise yard. There are fires located throughout the building, for those cooler nights. For those that are more adventurous - there are fantastic bush walks, river swimming, kayaking (BYO), country walks, long lunches at the only pub in town. Please also be aware that there are no shops in town, you will need to bring all your own food etc..... Please be aware this is not the 5 star Hilton, it is rustic, and old. the prisoners exercise yard leaks in heavy rain, the floor boards creak, and its the country. If your not ready to experience this, and disconnect off the communications grid, please consider staying elsewhere. Guest access When booking, you will be booking the whole building - exclusive use. However there is also another holiday rental on the property and the pool is a shared facility. Other things to note Please note this is an historic building, approx 150 years old. Please be aware there are some quirks that come with that. The building is used solely as holiday accommodation and guests take try their best to take care. But occasionally accidents happen. The property is also working property, and a constant work in progress. We are often fixing fences, repairing broken things, and performing ongoing maintenance. We do our best to not work when guests are staying, but there may be evidence of work on the property. Please keep all this in mind before booking. The property is really unique with original features and history you don’t get from your typical stays break! We loved the character of the building, the location (short stroll to the pub) beautiful views and the pool. Unfortunately on arrival we had to spend the first hour of our break cleaning things that should not require cleaning from paying guests. Including; fridge and cupboards with rotten food/drink spillages, oven was pretty filthy, dishwasher filter full of gunk. There were also several stains on bed sheets (photos available on request). Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay ##### Rhydian T.
