Brookside Cottage is a three bedroom home (with air conditioning) located on Five Mile Point, a private road on the east side of Skaneateles Lake. The house has one first floor bathroom and a total of three bedrooms: a first floor bedroom with a queen bed and two second floor bedrooms, one with two twin beds, and one with a queen bed. The property includes a fire pit area, large lawn and backyard stream. Enjoy grilling on the deck, swimming, fishing, hiking, and beautiful sunsets. The 74 feet of shared level lakefront with gradual entry is ideal for kids. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for use. Guests should bring their own towels. Linens, pillows and other essentials are provided. Guests will have access to the entire cottage and the 1/3 acre property it is located on, as well as the shared lakefront area which is a short 2-3 minute walk away. The lakefront area is shared by a few properties at Five Mile Point and has a designated dock for renters where you may moor a boat should you choose to rent one. There is plenty of private parking in the driveway. Pets and smoking are not permitted. This was an extremely cute cabin situated down a private road it's shared lake access with about seven other homes. The house itself was super cute and appropriately stocked with linens, towels and kitchen items. A couple of complaints would be that the stairs to get up to the two bedrooms were extremely steep And if you have little ones and even if somebody is trying to go to the bathroom which is downstairs in the middle of the night it can definitely be dangerous. Having said that , the owners did clarify and explain that in their listing, but you never really know until you get there. Also every morning we woke up and there were dead bugs, almost beatle like creatures, belly up on both the top floor and the bottom floor. At first we thought nothing of it, but then it kept happening every single morning. It's not the end of the world because you could just sweep it up and move on with your day but it was a little bit gross to encounter. Also there were some things like the light in the refrigerator and the light on the stove/range that did not work. It would have been very helpful to have those lights work and operate cuz it was text sometimes to see in the fridge and the oven light could have been really good night light for my kids.
