We stayed only stayed 1 night at Houghton Hall but will be going back. Our room was in the original part of the hall and had character and charm, with the wooden shutters on the windows, wonky floors and cornicing. The room was clean and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. If you like modern buildings and new decorations then this is not the place for you. The building could do with a little updating in areas, but that could take away from its charm.

Property was impressive from outside. Inside it was pretty run down and musty. Staff at the pool was very nice. It would be nice if pool would work loner-it closes at 8pm.

First room was dirty, toilet hadn't been cleaned. Remains of last person opening their bowls on inside of toilet. Second room dirty. Bed was uncomfortable, dipped in middle and you could feel the springs. Worst hotel ive ever stayed in.
