When we arrived, the home had not been properly cleaned: the floors were sticky, carpets hadn’t been vacuumed, and the bathrooms were in poor condition with visible dirt and even fecal splatter on a toilet seat. The kitchen was also not maintained—countertops had food and grease, the microwave was dirty, and the oven had grease pooled on it. Bedrooms contained piles of dirty bedding, and clean hangers and linens were scarce.We had to spend two hours cleaning just to make the kitchen and bathrooms usable.
