Guests have access to entire cabin except locked owner closet on main floor and furnace closet on upper floor.  
  
Guests have free access to the beautiful seasonal swimming pool (open May-Sept.) and year-round catch & release pond. Both are located at Honeysuckle Meadows Pool & Deli at bottom of the mountain (3 miles from cabin). Note: this is NOT the pool in the Preserve Resort.  
  
  
NO REFUNDS for weather events, natural disasters, power outages, or other things that are beyond our control. Guests are encouraged to purchase travel insurance for coverage.  
  
  
CRITTERS: We subscribe to professional pest control services. However, please keep in mind that the cabin is in the mountains. So in and around the cabin, guests can expect to encounter critters, including but not limited to: ants, bees, spiders, moths, millipedes, ladybugs, and rodents.  
  
  
MORE ON LADYBUGS: Fall/Winter is ladybug season in the Smokies. These little buggers are attracted to heat, meaning your cabin and every other one out there that is warm! They may swarm to the cabin and you'll probably see them alive/dead on windowsills, in vents, etc. Rest assured that your cabin has regular pest control and is professionally cleaned, including bug removal, before and after your stay. However, these bugs may come back right away and unfortunately there is no way to prevent it until the season passes.  
  
  
NEIGHBORHOOD  
  
Polaris Bear Cabin is located in the Preserve Resort, a premium cabin resort in the East Tennessee side of the Smoky Mountains. Uphill of idyllic Wears Valley, the resort is perched high on a ridge top in the mountains surrounding Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Townsend. For these reasons, the resort offers some of the most spectacular views in the Smoky Mountains.  
  
The Preserve Resort is also conveniently situated, only about 10 minutes to the Line Springs Road entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is approximately 25 minutes to action-packed Pigeon Forge, and 45 minutes to McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) near Knoxville. It is close enough to all the stuff to do in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but not in the middle of it all.  
  
  
DRIVING AND PARKING  
  
We have a wide paved street and plenty of level parking space in front of the cabin. No need for difficult parking maneuvers.  
  
Although roads from Wears Valley Road uphill to the Preserve Resort are paved, they are winding and hilly as is the case for most mountain resorts in the area. If you're not used to mountain driving, it will take some time to get used to. Drive more slowly, especially when it's dark.  
  
During most part of the year, a Prius can make it up here, but more powerful vehicles would handle the roads easier.  
  
In winter, we sometimes get inclement weathers, and roads may become icy or snow-clad. Guests are strongly suggested to drive AWD or 4WD vehicles or use snow chains. It is guests' responsibility to check weather before arriving.

For safety and security purposes, there are three visible, motion-activated, exterior video- and audio-recording cameras at the property: one outside of front door facing entrance porch; one on building front facing parking area; one below lower balcony covering crawl space door and HVAC outdoor units.

#### Nice views

Great views from the balconies. Nice location, not too far from hiking trails, about 40 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Walls in the house are extremely thin, you can hear everything that is going on outside or on the floors above and below. Living room / dining room / kitchen is too small for 10 people. Maybe need a bit more paper towels, garbage bags, dishwasher tablets, etc. No sponge for the kitchen sink. Need to replace or sharpen the knives, very dull, difficult to cut anything with. Definitely need to bring your own water for drinking and cooking. Appliances a bit outdated. Should have ice trays in the freezer. On the other hand, beds were comfortable, plenty of linens, very clean. Plenty of toiletries in all of the bathrooms. Balconies have tons of space to hang out outside. Enough dishes and silverware for 10 people. Overall, a nice place to stay, and again, the views are great.

#### Spectacular Views!

We loved our stay! We've stayed in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area many times over the years, and the views from this cabin were the best we've ever seen. Literally breathtaking. It was a drive (20+ min) to get to Pigeon Forge, but it was well worth it for the mountain views.The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. There was plenty of level space for our two cars. Communication with the owners was top notch as well. We would definitely stay again.

#### Amazing mountain retreat

Perfectly appointed cabin, not a single thing missing for a perfect family trip. The kids loved the loft and created a special little fort with all of the available pillows and blankets. Close enough to Pigeon Forge to enjoy all the family fun, but secluded enough that you feel like you are in your own little retreat in the mountains. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.

My family really enjoyed our cabin stay! The cabin was clean , modern, and roomy! Amazing views of the mountains also. Owners were helpful in every way imaginable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be staying here our next time in Tennessee.

had a great time! Many things to offer in the house to do as advertised. kids and adults alike Enjoyed the video games for entertainment after coming back to the cabin for some downtime after exploring the Smokies. Hot tub was nice too! we also enjoyed the theater room in the lower level for movie time. If I could add one thing to the amenities of the cabin, it would be to have access to the pool closer to the cabin without having to drive the 3 miles each way up and down the hill to access the other pool. we wish the sleeper sofa was up in the upper level because we needed it for our number of people in our cabin, but we're not allowed to fold it back up once it was opened up. It could not be folded back, as requested by the owners. this made the living room/dining area tight for The duration of our stay. This would not detour us from renting again though. very nice cabin To stay in

This was our second time staying at this cabin. The owners are great and very quick to answer any questions. The cabin has lots of games that we all enjoyed together. The views are breathtaking. Cabin was well stocked with plenty of pots and pans. Nothing to complain about. Will def stay again in the future

Loved the cabin! Our grandson (10) ran up to us immediately, hugging and thanking us for getting such a beautiful place. The views are amazing and we loved having three porches! Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable and everything was clean and decorated well. Our schedule was packed but we enjoyed every minute!

#### Beautiful Cabin - Stunning views!

The cabin was everything we thought it would be. It was very cozy, comfortable, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. Gorgeous views! The owners Cynthia and Tao were attentive and clearly communicated with us both during the planning stages of our trip and while we were there. The location is a bit out of the way though so keep this in mind. The road to the cabin is extremely steep and windy but you get used to it quickly, not a deal breaker but something to consider. We really enjoyed our stay!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful views. We thoroughly enjoyed the upstairs deck with the egg chair. The jacuzzi was clean and worked very well. All the electronic games were an added plus. Absolutely loved the pinball machine and the multitude in the downstairs theater area. We saw a family of bears off the deck also. Owners were Absolutely on top of any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again.
