A beautiful grand hotel. Old school in style and design yet clean and well maintained. Bathrooms even come with a shaving kit and toothpaste but no coffee in the room which was a small drawback for us.
Situated on Madrid’s Gran Via, you have the best and worst of the location… it’s walking distance to everying including the palace, Plaza Mayor and the Prado. However, it’s also incredibly busy; sidewalks and streets are packed from dawn well into the evening and we heard the sounds of police/ambulance sirens almost every night.
The cherry on top (literally on top) is the rooftop bar which made for a perfect spot for a drink after a day touring the sights.

This apartment had everything a family with young kids can ask for. We booked the 2 bedroom apartment (with an additional sofa bed in the living room), traveling with an infant and a toddler. The living room was extremely spacious and well designed. Kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked, extra towels and endless pillows available in closet. The daily cleaning offered by Hyatt was a godsend. The bedrooms were very sound proof and luxurious with lots of amenities. The only thing I didn't love was that the 2nd bedroom had a single bed, which was not ideal for co sleeping with toddler.
The location is in a nice neighborhood but it's a 15 min transit to the central tourist areas/sites to see, and a several minutes walk to local restaurants. So if you're traveling with young kids, be prepared with a stroller and carrying kids for several minutes as you navigate transit.
We did find the transit stations such as the metro and the bus to be quite accessible for the stroller. It helps to have the tap to pay with credit card option. Kids under 4 ride free (as of writing of this review).

9/10 Wonderful! (156 reviews)
This could easily have been five-star, but it's the classic "devil in small details" issue:
1. Pronounced street noise at night from people passing buy and other activities. I think noise-rated windows could mitigate this issue.
2. "Zero" level apartment has windows on eye level of the passers by, i.e. to get privacy you need fully draw blinds even during the day (no daylight). One-way reflective windows would mitigate that, too. I'm sure higher level apartments don't suffer this particular problem.
3. Shower mount impossible to hold in one position, making it most frustrating experience. The shower head was flying and dismounting when you just looked at it wrong. I suggest a new fully fixed shower head for "rain" experience.
4. No cutting board (?) and no drying rack for laundry (what's the point of a washer if you have to scramble to hang the wet laundry?). I know these are small things, but become a problem when you want to cut something or make laundry.
5. Request for the cutting board sent to given Whatsapp number was met with a generic message "we're open 10-18 on weekdays and whatever on weekdays (it was 10:10 Friday) and no follow up after that. After this I gave up reporting anything else.
I really wanted to like this place, as everything looked great at first and the meeting host was nice and helpful. However, the issues described above spoiled it to the point I can only say it was just ok. Not terrible, but not outstanding, either.
