"The place is in a safe area a little outside of the main town. The cabins are super cute and very clean. There is a main gate locks and it felt very secure. The walk up the path was tough with luggage ! This was my only complaint, but it was a great work out at the same time. Easy for backpackers but not a single lady with larger luggage. "

We loved this establishment because it captured the beauty of the lake while allowing us to enjoy our time away from all the noise. "We loved our stay at Refugio del Volcan. We’ve been travelling through Central America for c 8 weeks and this accommodation stands out as one of the best. We had the apartment unit at the top, which has the most incredible views of the lake! The accommodation was very comfortable and quiet at night for a great night sleep. The kitchen was well equipped and nice hot shower in the bathroom. It’s a fair distance from San Pedro town centre but walkable, and very easy to get a Tuktuk to and from the town for circa 20Q. We couldn’t fault our stay and would totally recommend to other travellers! "
