  • Enjoy a piece of history, this stone house was built in the 1930's. One of three that were part of Rimrock Ranch Bar Lazy-R, a "dude ranch" where VIPs and movie stars would stay as they were filming westerns in the Sedona area or relaxing. In the 60’s it was Mobster getaway hiding spot. The stone house sits elevated on a hillside with overlooking panoramic views of forestry land, local homes & farms, with scenic pinions.

The animals were a really cool experience. Joe was very friendly and easy to get ahold of and communicate with. Our cat enjoyed his stay just as much as we did. The views are spectacular and it is quite cozy sitting out on the porch swing. It is very animal, friendly with dog beds, bowls, and water bowls as well as an enclosed yard for them to run around in! It could’ve used a deep clean before we got there. We understand most people don’t need to check under the bed, but our cat likes to venture under there and there was a good layer of dirt built up. It is also in need of a little bit of renovation AND the cabin has a-lot of charm. It’s a perfect out-of-town, remote little town weekend getaway spot to go technology free! It’s down a little dirt road so make sure your car is prepared for that!

Clean cottage, host was excellent. Ranch hands were friendly. Views are fantastic. All the animals were a lot of fun to interact with. Will certainly come back next time we're in the area.

Absolutely one of the best finds I have had the opportunity to experience. From start to finish. I recommend any and everyone check this place out. Great view, great vibe, lots of history (of the town) located on the shelf. It was just very accommodating / satisfying. What a fantastic place to stay. A beautiful stone building near the top of a hill with a great garden and a brilliant host Joe. We were there for only two days on a road trip from Phoenix to Seattle but it really wonderful. A very well equipped kitchen, good WiFi, comfortable bed and lots of external seating to enjoy the sun, the views during the day and the start sky at night. Joe, the host provided lots of information about the history of the property and the former ranch it is situated on. Delightful also to see the chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys in the adjoining runs and the goats in a small field behind. And don't worry, no early morning alarm calls from the Rhode Island Red roosters! We really enjoyed our stay in a very beautiful place - highly recommended.

Amazing stone cottage

We only stayed for one night but the owner is extremely friendly and hospitable! This is such a lovely comfortable place to stay. You cannot beat the views! We even got to see the farm animals! Thank you for having us and hope to stay again next year!

Rustic retreat with beautiful views

I had a nice long stay at Joe’s little mountaintop farm. The views across the desert are awesome, and the cottage is a sweet little place to stay. Joe and all of his animals are very friendly and hospitable.

The cottage was beautiful and peaceful. We loved the record player helped bring us back to a feeling of when life was less busy! Joe was very communitive and nice. We cant wait to come stay again!

Beautiful historic ranch

This place has enough so all you need are to pack clothes and food. The host is knowledgable of the area and friendly. It's a nice break from Phoenix heat and higher elevation is further up the road.
