Kalavarda is a picturesque village built near the ruins of ancient Kamiros, around 800m from the beach. It is located about 30km from the capital of the island and 15km from the airport. Kalavarda is a farmers village on the western coast of the island. It is situated on a clean sand-and-pebbles beach which offers some of the most beautiful sunset views on the island. From the village you can visit the ruins of ancient Kamiros, the valley of the butterflies and Profitis Ilias. The community of Kalavarda numbers just over 500 inhabitants.
