Clean, quiet, really good service

We stayed for a week. My spouse and I loved that the hotel played gospel inspired music. The staff were friendly and welcoming, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area to make suggestions for us to visit. The bed however in the room was very stiff and made my husband back hurt. The room service was confusing at first, but clarified with the housekeeper which she was able to spruce up our room a bit.Overall, the hotel was great and very convenient to the French Quarter area and local restaurants too. Definitely recommend and we both enjoyed visiting New Orleans.

We stayed at The Barnett this past weekend for our Anniversary staycation also during Essence Fest weekend in the city. We chose this hotel as it is within walking distance to Bearcat, Rouses, CVS and the Superdome. The bellman greeted us and assisted with getting our luggage out of the car, and called for the valet to park our car. There is a parking lot directly across the street from the hotel, but we used the hotel valet ($50 per day). The front desk associate was friendly, checked us in quickly and we were in the room within 10 minutes of arriving. We reserved a room with a private balcony, but were placed in a room with the shared balcony. Although there were blinds I was not a fan of just anyone walking past our room. The room was spacious and decorated in a cute retro vibe. The walls are thin. You will hear your neighbors and will definitely hear any music playing. The pool is a vibe! Relaxing lounge chairs with shade and mist fans. The pool cook, Bliss, made delicious wings. We will be back for a pool day soon!
