The family-run Alpenlicht, with 11 vacation apartments, is located in the heart of the beautiful health resort of Reit im Winkl in the Chiemgau Alps, on the border with Tyrol, Austria. Our property is centrally located in the village, in a quiet area. Our one-, two-, and three-bedroom vacation apartments, brightly furnished in the Upper Bavarian country house style, feature a separate, fully equipped kitchen, shower/toilet, cable TV, free Wi-Fi, and a balcony or sun terrace. Small dogs are allowed upon prior consultation with us. The building houses a naturopathic practice where you’re welcome to schedule appointments. Deep relaxation and preventive health care—all right here in the building! We offer herbal walks, scenic drives to the Hohe Tauern National Park, and tips for a relaxing vacation for the whole family! The diverse shopping options and recreational facilities of Reit im Winkl are right nearby.
Depending on the season, you’re just a few steps away from hiking trails or cross-country ski trails. The free shuttle bus to the Winklmoosalm/Steinplatte ski area departs from the town hall, just 2 minutes away. There’s plenty of parking available at the house for your car.

The spacious two-room vacation apartment (living room, bedroom, separate kitchen, and bathroom with tub and toilet) measures approximately 60 square metres and is located on the first floor. The quiet, separate bedroom is furnished with a double bed. In the living room, the couch can be converted to accommodate an additional guest. This means the apartment comfortably accommodates two to three people. The kitchen is fully equipped and features a 4-burner stove with an oven and a dishwasher. You can enjoy the sun on the south-facing balcony.
Reit im Winkl, a climatic health resort According to Wikipedia, the designation "climatic health resort" is awarded to "localities whose air and climate, according to an expert assessment, possess qualities that are beneficial for recreation and health." Reit im Winkl was designated a health resort in 1956 and has consistently met the criteria for this designation ever since through its ongoing efforts. One key factor is its elevation, which ensures that summer heat is moderate and nights remain pleasantly cool. The town is surrounded by extensive mountain forests of the Chiemgau Alps and, in terms of its general climate, belongs to the "Bavarian Alps" climate region. The character of the weather is decisively determined by the local conditions—that is, by the influence of the mountain ranges and valleys on weather patterns. In addition to the natural conditions that ensure good air quality, we actively work to preserve the fresh mountain air by utilizing natural heat and providing ample bus service.
