It is clear from displayed past awards in the front lobby this was once a prosperous location. It is a stark departure from that today. From the moment we checked in the hotel was woefully understaffed and is operating on a skeleton basis. The pool is open, but the hot tub, slide and water features are closed. The breakfast buffet had out of order equipment.
The main reason we stayed here was because of a reputation for catering to pet owners with pet friendly rooms. We travelled with our two dogs who stayed with us in the room. We briefly took them out of the room and arranged to have housekeeping come in and freshen up the room at that time. On return, we realized that four dark chocolates had been left on our pillow by housekeeping. While a thoughtful gesture, this entirely overlooked that there were dogs staying in the room, and that this was known to the hotel given that we were paying a pet fee to have our pets stay in the room with us. We assumed, perhaps wrongly, this would have drawn a baseline of attention towards our pets such as not propping doors open for pets to escape, or leaving food items out to be eaten by pets. Had we not caught the chocolates before our dogs did, serious vet bills likely would have ensued. This lack of attention to detail was present all over the hotel throughout our stay. We will not stay here again as a result.
