Super close to the 'Middle of the World' so perfect for those who are tight on time and want to see this site. The bedrooms were VERY clean and the beds were VERY comfortable. By the way, taxi drivers here do not seem to use GPS at all, and I had to use my Google Map and terribly broken Spanish to help the drivers. From here to Central of the World is around 5 minutes, and a Uber ride costs $2.33 (The hotel owner Wilson Chavez arranged it for us). On our way back, the taxi driver asked for $4\. I believe taxi always costs more in Quito, as it cost $50 to get to the hotel from the Airport on a Taxi, but only $22 to return to the airport in a much comfortable Uber car. We never met the senior Wilson, but his son Wilson Chavez was very accommodating. He said yes to all of our requests with dinner orders and taxi requests. We ended up using his kitchen to make a soup on his stove. He let us use his avocado, mango, eggs, cheese, pasta and bread for a minimal fee. The internet speed is quite fast too. On the next day, we met Wilson's sister's boyfriend, David. David had lived in the US before with a J-1 visa. His girlfriend and him both work at the airport. He speaks English very well and initially offered to drive me to the airport, but later on he had to change the plan as the whole family was driving to the beach to celebrate new year's eve. Besides the palm trees you see in the photo, they also have an orchard of avocado trees and lemon trees on the property. When I showed this to the Patriarch, he flatly refused. Not so important, but a long ways from town. However, the friendliness of the female more than made up for this.
