We call this cabin our Hillside Hideaway. It's one of our great properties located on Big Pine Canyon Road, just a short 5-minute walk to the Sundance Resort. The cabin offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern conveniences. It's a great property for a relaxing mountain getaway. There are two wood-burning fireplaces, including one in the master bedroom. The great room has large windows on three sides, flooding the room with an abundance of natural light and great views of the forest. Relax on the large deck that surrounds the cabin, perfect for dining under the stars in the summer months. And in the winter, you can warm up after a day on the slopes in the hot tub, or sauna. Let Stewart Mountain Lodging host your mountain getaway! We live here in Sundance full time - so we're always available. You'll love our private park, "The Hollow", with an outdoor fireplace and Zip Line swing. With our full concierge services we can arrange for a day of fly fishing with our favorite guides, recommend a variety of local day trips and/or hikes, or arrange a massage in your home. It's location is AMAZING! We love it there no matter what time of year. The views, the peacefulness, proximity to both Sundance and Provo/Orem are all great benefits. This cabin parks 2 vehicles and comfortably sleeps 6-10 people depending on age. As my wife describes it, it is very cozy. The loft is super fun for the kids. The wood-burning fireplace is a great feature as well.The Negatives - unfortunately, this was not our best stay at Sundance. The automated emails from the property management company make arrival and check out super easy, but if actually need something from them, they are easy to get ahold of but terrible at follow through. Not a deal breaker, just kind of annoying. The cabin is in need of some love. The deck railing is falling off, spiders throughout the cabin, the kitchen is not well appointed at all, and the water in the hot tub was very dirty. But the coup de grace was the rash. 4 of us woke up the first morning to very unpleasant rashes all over. I'm not going to make any assertions about the cause without solid evidence, but it was not good.So sadly, while we will certainly come back to this area and even this exact road again, we likely would not return to this specific property. ##### Christopher C. The driveway was very steep. Make sure you have 4-wheel drive, chains and good tread on your tires. The only thing that would make this stay a bit more comfortable if they added one to two king size beds. Great location and beautiful scenery. ##### April R. Non-skiers would drop the rest of us off and pick us up. The best part of house is the big living space which we enjoyed in the evenings. For those of you that can't completely disconnect from work there's a table off of the kitchen where you can set an leave your laptop. Large foyer with a slate floor so you don't feel guilty about dragging some snow and water into the house. The property manager stressed needing four wheel drive which I assumed was a blanket recommendation for the area. However, the driveway, while short is steep and uphill and icy from being driven over. I made the mistake of driving to the top when we arrived. Our rented Suburban slide down the driveway out of our control when leaving the next morning. From that point on, I parked at the end of the driveway, which was less treacherous pulling out but walking up was still an issue. A trash can of salt and sand was delivered during our stay which was a big help. There is firewood and fire starters provided for the large fireplace but we didn't have any luck getting the wood to burn. Probably the most proactive property managers I've had the experience to work with, in terms of communications, which really took away a lot of the stress of traveling. We try to get out to Sundance every year and would definitely consider staying here again. ##### Michael B. The property managers were very helpful and outgoing in making us feel comfortable staying there. The house was perfect and was just the right space for us to gather with enough space for everyone to be able to retreat. Close proximity to Sundance resort and to nearby trails. Our 3 night stay at Arrowhead Cabin was delightful. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by mellow and relaxing surround music and a cozy fireplace. Cabin is beautifully decorated and we loved the american art pieces throughout. Your place surpassed our expectations. Our family wanted a break from the city and busy lives and Arrowhead was the perfect place to enjoy each others company and relax for a long weekend. A short drive or a nice walk to Sundance resort where you can find all your winter amenities and dining is also a plus! The Hillside Getaway was a great place to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. There was only a small group of us, so it felt lovely and spacious with room to be private if necessary. We were able to fit three vehicles comfortably on the driveway. The lights were on, including the ones on the Christmas tree, and everything in the main living areas felt warm and comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy, and the property management let us arrive earlier so that I could set up food and decorations in preparation for my husband's arrival. They even left us some 'Happy Birthday' pastries. There was a large open fire which we enjoyed loading logs onto throughout the evenings. (plenty available at the property). It was cozy and relaxing. We really enjoyed the hot tub!!! We spent a lot of time in there! It was great to be outside where it was snowing, but sit in the relaxing tub that was a good size, and feel nice and warm. We used it in the day time and evening time. We had two dogs with us. I wish there was an enclosed area so that the dogs could sniff around without us having to watch them so closely. One of the dogs is a 'runner' and would have run off if he hadn't been leashed when outside. All it needs is a gate at the bottom of the wooden steps. The kitchen was a little bit small, but we managed. There was a small dining table and small round table at the side of the kitchen. We had a private chef prepare a meal for us on one of the evenings (Adam Price.....awesome chef...awesome food....we all thoroughly enjoyed it). We had to slide both tables together in order to have a big enough area to eat at. Wish it had been bigger to make the meal feel more special. The heaters/fans in the bedrooms would not work for us with the remote controls that were available. I did not contact the management about this until after the fact because it was late in the evening when we all realized. I was really cold in the night because of no heating in the bedroom. And same for the other guests. We did stay during a very cold winter weekend though. I would recommend checking the heaters/fans upon arrival to be on the safe side. We were located really close to the Sundance resort, and was only a 5 -10 minute walk away. Overall we were extremely happy with the Hillside Getaway and would definitely consider staying again! ##### Laura S.
