We had a great stay at this hotel. The front desk ( i think her name was Sharon), she was friendly and welcoming same as the guy that was helping with breakfast. He was helping guest and making sure the place is clean and everything is available for breakfast. The down side of this hotel is the overnight front desk agent, i did see that she was rude with guests that arrived late at night, and i thought maybe was the guest’s fault, but the acted rudely with us when we asked for water that was available all day (her answer was “do you see water there? I said: no, then she said: so there is no water”) all this was with a rude tone. We asked for help to print 3 pages we need, she sent us to business center that has printer with no ink. Then she said email it to an email address she gave us and we can get the printed documents in the morning at the front desk but not the same night. The email address was wrong, so we had to get sharon to help is and she did great. The overnight agent needs to learn hospitality to work at a hotel.

Review of Sofitel Hotel – A Comfortable Stay with Room for Improvement Overall, our stay at the Sofitel was very pleasant. The room itself was comfortable and well-maintained, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job keeping it clean and tidy throughout our visit. However, there were a few aspects that could be improved. The duvet comforter was used as the main cover with no top sheet provided, which was not ideal. Additionally, the curtains in our room were in need of repair, and the refrigerator was not working during our stay. Service was a bit inconsistent. While the bar offered a great happy hour with a nice selection of drinks, the bartenders were not particularly welcoming. We also had some difficulty communicating with the front desk—phone calls from our room to request extra towels and a sheet went unanswered, and even after speaking directly with staff in the morning, our request was still forgotten. The hotel's outdoor bar and restaurant seating area could use some attention as well. It has potential but currently feels neglected; for example, hanging flower pots along the fence contained trash instead of flowers, which created a cluttered and uninviting appearance. Despite these issues, we appreciated the efforts of the housekeeping staff and enjoyed certain amenities. With a few updates and improvements in service, the Sofitel has the potential to offer a truly exceptional experience.

Comfortable stay and helpful staffed

Phenomenal property! The staff were amazing! Everyone greeted us by name and with a smile each day. The rooms were beautiful and super clean. Loved the amenities like the restaurant and the spa. Close to many restaurants and shops and a quick walk to the museums. Will stay here again and again! Fantastic!

The good thing is it is on Gallaudet's property.
