Funchal5 nights4.0 star property9.6/10 - Exceptional (49 reviews)"A great hotel in a nice location. We enjoyed our stay. Very clean and tidy. The property had the feel of a grand plantation house. The only thing letting it down was the slight complexity over the amenities. Whilst it has its own pool, everything else you require, such as food, bars, larger pools, etc., needs to be accessed from the Pestana hotels next door, which can be accessed through a route within the grounds. We found the breakfast area well, but never found the bar or other areas, as it..."Reviewed September 14, 2026Roundtrip • Lisbon (LIS) - Madeira Island (FNC)LIS - FNC • Nonstop FNC - LIS • NonstopCA $2,974CA $1,566found 1 day agoper traveller - Pestana Grand Premium Ocean Resort

"Great stay and right at start of PR19 trail..2300 steps down to ocean. Only challenge was parking..but it was available with a 8min walk."
"Excellent hotel, brilliant experience."
"Incredible location, right at the starting point of hiking trails. Breathtaking views. Delicious food. Super friendly and accommodating staff members!"
"Property was immaculate. Great views. Customer service responded quickly. Having a kitchen on site, parking, decent size fridge/freezer and coffee machine… all big bonuses. Only downside was the laundry machine and dryers were very small and even after drying for an hour our clothes were still wet. Overall, I would stay again but don’t depend on the laundry facilities being fast. 😅"
"The food was very interesting. Some overcooked. There were ants in the dessert. We often resorted to the restaurants along the pier. They also forgot to put my birthday amenity until after we arrived but all in all the hotel was beautiful and had a very scenic view to gaze upon the mountains, oceans and sunsets. I wish it was closer to Funchal as it’s 40 minutes away and quite expensive to frequently travel to. The area is quite limited with activities so having a shorter stay would’ve been a...
